Quite a challenging walk for the average fit, but not too hard in the sense of “don’t do it”. Yeah... the one last rock to scramble over takes a bit of courage. Our plan was to use bikes for the first part, since we had them for the whole weekend but we left them on the intersection to fossil cliffs in the end. Yes, you can go up the cliff and into the forest with the bike (like another 2 km, I think) until you reach a sign saying to leave the bikes. The path is broad enough but just didn’t look doable/enjoyable. We already pictured ourself pushing the bike all the way up😅 and down looked not too appealing as well with the totally uneven surface (rocks/roots). But that is an opinion from a person going by bike once a year for a pleasurable ride... the mountain biker might love it :). Read moreThe hike is slightly difficult but it is worth it at the top. Most of the climb is fairly easy, but the last bit of the climb is quite difficult as it involves climbing on the rocks. It is quite scary to stand up at the summit in the wind and there is places to explore at the top to see most of Maria Island and parts of mainland Tasmania. The Bishop and Clerk boulders looked like floating islands. Highly recommend this...
