Double Black are the best Mt Buller transfer option available. They went way beyond my expectations by far. Their incredible transfer service is a much needed service. It was simple & cost effective and much cheaper than driving and parking On-Mountain without the hassle & worry that comes with that. They met us at the Mirimbah carpark (costs $0-$8/day) near the Mt Buller Resort entrance at the base of the mountain where it rarely snows. We did a quick drop-off & transfer of luggage, then parked the car. Their stunning new black Mercedes vehicles are specifically designed for over-snow use and you can book a vehicle that seats either 4 or up to 8 people. The business owners & drivers, Eddie & Sarah, are an absolute delight and a real asset. After a relaxing, informative and always exciting 30min drive up the mountain they safely delivered us to our accommodation at the Mt Buller Chalet Hotel. This transfer saved us having to hire chains, top up the car with Alpine fuel and saved us the worry of digging the car out if their was a dumping of snow during our stay, potentially fitting chains to the wheels & risking driving over the snow which is really scary for the inexperienced. It was also CHEAPER. COST TO PARK ON-MOUNTAIN vs DOUBLE BLACK ALPINE TRANSFER We were a group of 9 that drove up 4 cars. PARKING Each car would have cost $154.80 (20% online discount) to park for 3 nights = 4 x $154.80= $619.20 $20 RESORT ENTRY x $20 x 7 adults + $15 x 2 kids= $170 CHAIN HIRE x 4 vehicles for 4 full days @$75 = $300 Our total cost to park on the mountain would have been $1099 vs DOUBLE BLACK TRANSFERS VEHICLE cost $210 for 8 people + $125 for 1-4 people X RETURN resort fees $20 x 7 adults + $15 x 2 kids= $170 on entry only = $840 If we'd been a group of 8 it would have only been $570 door-to-door instead of nearly $1100 for us to all to park on-mountain. Look no further than Double Black Alpine (DBA) to help you with all the logistics and bookings needed for a cycle trip on the Great Victorian Rail Trail! Sahra and Eddie took care of all the details, including booking some great hotels and accomodation, excellent places for dinner and transport between each of the stops along the way (over Easter 2023). Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for our hosts DBA. Even after we had booked, there was no problem adding another person to the booking who decided to come after we had booked. When one of our team needed to swap from bikes to an e-bike, DBA went beyond the call of duty to arrange this with the bike hire company, meet us at our first stop, and do the swap over (NB - even if you are an experienced cyclist, I highly recommend you get an e-bike, and bring padded cycle shorts!). This company provides the BEST service ever in Mount Buller. Sarah and Eddie are very professional, they care about their clients and they provide exceptional service from the booking process until the end.

A company called SnowGum Express made us wait for 2 hours at Mirimbah car park until it was dark and we were very anxious. But I called Double Black and Eddie came in 20 minutes from the time we called them. They made us very comfortable and really saved our trip from a chaotic start.

We left one of our phones in the car park and they went above and beyond by going to Mirimbah car park at night to search for our phone, to ensure we didn't drop it outside the car.

Their vehicles are new, very comfortable, and their driving were amazing. They knew the mountain so well. They were also very punctual. When you book with this company, you will surely get your money's worth for the VIP service they provide to their clients.
