Stepping into Pure Desi in Melbourne was like being transported straight to the bustling streets of India. From the moment I walked through the doors, the air was filled with the mouthwatering aroma of freshly made sweets and the rich, comforting scent of spices that beckon you to indulge.
The sweets here are pure magic. I have tasted many, but nothing compares to the authentic, melt-in-your-mouth quality of their Milk Cake and Kaju Katli. Every bite tells a story of craftsmanship, tradition, and passion. The Pav Bhaji and Samosas are beyond perfect, offering that perfect blend of spice and warmth that only Indian street food can provide.
What really sets Pure Desi apart, however, is the love that clearly goes into everything they do. It’s evident in the fresh ingredients, the attention to detail, and the genuinely warm service that makes you feel like you’re part of their family. Whether it's the vibrant Pani Puri or the creamy, irresistible Kulfi, each item is a celebration of India’s rich culinary heritage.
Pure Desi isn’t just a restaurant or a sweet shop; it’s an experience. The kind of place that stays with you long after you’ve left. If you’re craving authentic Indian flavors, Pure Desi is a must-visit. They’ve certainly earned a loyal fan in me, and I’ll be back for more, every chance I get! Thank you, Pure Desi, for bringing a little bit of India into Melbourne and making every visit unforgettable. You have a...

Read moreAfter much anticipation, we finally visited the “Pure Desi” outlet in Campbellfield.
While I must mention that I tried a few sweets—which were actually quite nice, especially the Imarti—we mainly went for their hot food.
Despite it being a Sunday noon, tandoori momos were unavailable, even though there was still a board near the cash counter advertising them.
Soon after, a staff member informed us that only three items from the hot food menu were available. So, we ordered the dal paratha and chhole bhature.
After waiting for 45 long minutes—mind you, there were only four people in the store—we finally received our order.
And here comes the most disappointing part: the parathas were clearly frozen ones. The texture and smell were unmistakable, identical to the kind you get from a packet of deep-frozen parathas (please refer to the pictures).
This is simply unacceptable for a place that’s trying to build a reputation.
We ended up paying $18 for frozen parathas.
Please get your...
