Absolutely Terrible Airport If there was a prize for Australia's worst regional airport this place would win hands down - even worse than Port Hedland - and that is saying something! The security is a nightmare and is badly managed - takes ages to get through - they claim its because they don't have the same equipment as Perth - but so does every other regional airport and they manage just fine with one lane. If you have one electrical lead that has to come out which slows the process down even further - no other airport asks for that. I made a formal complaint to the OTS about them - I doubt whether any follow-up was taken. The Qantas crew were telling me they hate coming here and overly strict rules which are enforced with an iron rod - probably because the airport management has nothing better to do. They were telling me they even get reported if the move away from the "X" by the front door at disembarkation. The wifi is, at best bad and non-existent once through security as is the mobile reception - even Telstra mobiles barely work. The cafe serves cannon ball muffins and dishwater cappuccinos at some exhorbitant price. The staff here are unpleasant on all levels - check-in to ground crew. Harassed and humiliated at security check when coming back to Perth. They singled me out for extensive checking while everyone else were allowed to pass through, guessing because of the colour of my skin. While I was 'body searched', they opened my bag, rummaged through everything, and started throwing around my expensive company equipment despite failing to once mention that I had to remove them when I put the bag up for scanning. When I was finally deemed 'fit' to pass through, I voiced my discontent in the slightest and they all ganged up on me saying how I should've already known everything. Keep in mind, I've travelled through numerous domestic airports in Australia and pretty familiar with everything I need to do. There was a single person who treated me like a human and helped me gather my belongings at the end of it all. Avoiding at all...

Security is a joke to say the least. Glen 20 is not allowed in your carry on because it's flammable but body spray is. It really didnt bother me but when I asked whats the difference, the special man replied " a big difference". 🤔 Know your job. Rude staff. Shoes and jumper off to go through Security.
