Unfortunately, as a few other reviews have mentioned, we booked a half day tour, scheduled to start at 12.30pm, and received a text a few days before to advise they would be picking us up an HOUR early at 11.30am. Additionally, the website makes no mention of one of the stops being for lunch, so we had made a brunch booking for right before the tour that we had to cancel, to accommodate their changed pick up time. When questioned about the change of schedule by a whole hour/lunch stop now included, Adam was actually quite rude and condescending via text, replying only "Seriously" to one of my messages when clarifying the change in itinerary. The tour guide was nice, but just drove us from venue to venue. The snacks provided was one small bottle of water and one small packet of chips per person (some reviews state that no snacks were received at all). Each winery we arrived at seemed unprepared for us - unsure why this was. A lot of the above I would have looked past and been understanding of, if Adam had spoken respectfully to me. All of the other customers on the half day tour were also surprised to have received this message, when booking a 12.30pm start time. I hope Mudgee Wine Adventures takes on board this honest feedback to improve their service for future customers. Some further details on the website for transparency would have problem solved a lot of the above. For example: that the tour could be moved forward by an hour without consultation, and that a lunch stop is included. It would probably also be worthwhile mentioning on the website that the cost of the tour does not cover tastings at each venue, so expect to pay an additional $30-$40 per person in tasting fees. This didn't surprise us, as I had read this in other reviews prior, but one of the other couples on our tour were blindsided by this, thinking the tour cost included tastings, so keep this in mind when comparing to tours charging $120-$130 per person for a half day, as these may include tasting fees at all wineries. I did appreciate that the company took on board some requests for particular wineries, hence my 3...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMudgee Wine Adventures was the first time I went to Mudgee and did the wine tour and will be the last. I booked the wine tour about a month ago, paid in full for me and 2 friends.
I didnāt receive a confirmation email and on the day of the tour the owner (Adam) arrived at our hotel advising he had a āPrivate Busā which was his personal vehicle, which wasnāt even a bus but was his 4wd.
Adam had later admitted that he forgot to put our booking in his diary and had over booked the bus that we were suppose to go on.
He kept saying āI didnāt want to put you on a noisy loud busā ā¦.well isnāt that the point of a wine tour is to go on a bus and mingle and get tipsy with other people?
When we had finally arrived to the winery we were rushed from venue to venue and couldnāt even finish the drinks that we were suppose to be tasting or we didnāt even get to have the drinks that were promised to us.
We probably wouldnāt have minded if Adam was just honest from the beginning and apologised and owned his mistake, he couldāve said āLadies, I apologise I stuffed up would you mind going in my 4wdā if he had asked us we wouldnāt have minded but he just assumed we were ok with going in his 4wd.
Save yourself the hassle and donāt go!!!
If youāre after a good wine tour go to Hunter Valley or Orange ā¦.. Mudgee Wine Tour Adventures was definitely a big...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThree of us on a girls weekend away did a half day wine tour with Adam.
Adam was well mannered polite driver.
Was given two weeks notice that there would be a gluten free person on board for the snacks as per website. There were no snacks or water put out for anybody. When asked at the end about them was told they were in the esky. Was originally under the impression they would atleast be put out on a platter at a winery, but no, nothing.
Also got advised that we were stopping at a winery for lunch which was never mentioned at booking time. We had pre-snacked before going but when asked the winery about gluten free options was told could have a toastie but in the end was told sorry have run out of gluten free bread. Did have to other gf options but were to big when had already eaten hence wanting some thing small. I donāt blame this on the winery as Adam should have preworned them but didnāt. Apparently our group had only been booked into the winery that morning. Thanks for paying for my wine tasting at this one though Adam.
There was no tour history, just driving.
Thanks for a safe trip...
