This place would be so amazing after a good drenching. Unfortunately, South Australia is experiencing its driest period on record so the reservoir level is extremely low and the surrounding hills are full in colour instead of being lush and green. Except for a few places, you have to walk a fair bit on dry and cracked ground before reaching any water. There is a flooded town - Lovely Valley - submerged somewhere here, but there is no signage indicating where exactly, which is a shame. With the water level being so low, I was hoping to see a rooftop of sorts sticking out 😒. The reservoir had walking tracks and at the official reserve there are heaps of parking spots, toilets and a launching area for kayaks.
