Really like this place and have been a few times - the trails are really scenic and multiple instructors come along on the ride too and are equipped with first aid packs which I think is great. I'm an experienced rider and usually am apprehensive to attend trail rides because I hate to spend money to just walk or do a short trot. Here however the group was split after a while and more experienced riders were able to do some short canters which was great. Just note that if you are wanting to canter they are only short on these trails because the horses know they can canter uphill and they will stop at the top, and there are not heaps of long hills to go up.
If you are experienced and wanting a decent amount of cantering I recommend the Muster, these are more fast paced, in large open areas and are only for experienced riders but keep an eye out because they don't happen often.
Giving it 4 stars because of my last muster experience which was a little bit annoying. An older gentleman came along who worked there and I feel like he was a bit too intense because he kept telling people what to do and freaking out a bit if people were cantering (which we were told to do by another instructor down a section of a paddock). Almost every time there was a change he was keeping too much of a watchful eye on everyone, which to a degree I get that you're looking out for the customers, but also I don't feel like he kept in mind everyone on the ride were experienced riders and knew full well how to control their horses confidently. This only happened on one of the Musters I went on though, previous ones were much better because all the instructors were more relaxed and trusted we were experienced enough to fully handle the horses. I would still absolutely...
ย ย ย Read moreWe did the 2 hour bush ride (as two beginners), and we'd highly recommend. We arrived early as requested. At the site (which includes toilet facilities), we were provided with safety helmets and our saddles were tailored to fit our leg lengths. We then were given a great crash course on how to control horses which proved useful during our ride. Our assigned horses were gentle although occasionally stubborn (a good opportunity for us to apply our newly learnt knowledge). Our guides were friendly, knowledgeable while also being respectful of quiet moments to enjoy the natural beauty of the bush. During the ride, a guide was always at the front of our group for safety purposes (eg if a horse was to get spooked). At the end of our ride, we were offered to remove the bridles and to feed our...
ย ย ย Read moreWe came on the basis of the good reviews, but I did not enjoy the ride at all.
Pros: scenery is lovely, booking process relatively straightforward.
Cons: horses were not particularly well-trained or responsive. Most horses also appeared to spook very easily (risky for beginner riders) - including on sighting kangaroos, not good in a bush setting! Advanced riders were not well-catered for (only 2 very short canters in a 2 hour ride). The guide did not seem to be a particularly experienced rider, nor did she appear to have good control over her horse.
