Lake Mac Meats — Local services in Newcastle-Maitland

Have loved going to this butcher for years until today. A customer was allowed to freely walk around with her two dogs. When I told the owner we'd never come back, their responses was, "we often have dogs in here, it's hot outside". If owners can not leave home without their dogs, they should have water for their dogs and be prepared to tie their dogs up in the shade. I am a dog owner and my partner a butcher by trade and this is disgusting, unhygienic and I'm pretty sure against food health...

Really good quality meat and at a good price. Staff are very lovely too. I had come in, not realising they were about to close, and was looking for a specific cut of meat. They explained they wouldn't have what I want until tomorrow but gave me an alternative. I'm not a very experienced cook so was open to suggestions, and what I made turned out amazing! Will be coming back....

Been using these guys for a long time. Had an issue the other week and they sorted everything made it very easy with no stress to me Glen and staff are so friendly and professional. Highly recommend for the food and the service the best sausages...
