An oasis in the outback. At the foot of the impressive rock formations there is a small pool filed with water lilies. There are also several water birds. A hidden observation post allows you to watch the birds and enjoy the scenery in shade whilst a cool breeze blows from across the water. If you are keen then there is a 300 m walk up a hill to a lookout where you can see the rock formation and surrounding outback scenery. The track is uneven and covered with loose stones and rocks,...

Mystical geological formations with some excellent walks. Lovely cool two kilometre loop walk through 25 metre sandstone "lost city" pillars. Kids love it. Access is 500m from a bitumen highway. If you can't/won't navigate the corrugated roads of Limmen National Park to see the Southern and Western Lost Cities, Carranbirini is the perfect alternative while on the Cape Crawford/Borroloola region of...

Terrific place for bird watching, walking for most ages and stages. Not wheelchair accessible in most areas, however the bird hide may be. Some minor inclines and minor descent on a well marked track for the 2km circuit. Allow plenty of time to be able to stop, sit and enjoy the magnitude and what time has created. I spent 2 hours at the bird hide as things came and went, veritable...

Great site. Free and only 500m off the road. Couple of walks available of different lengths. It's (imo) similar to Bungle Bungles but the domes are thinner. One of the walks take you right amongst them. Walk to billabong (bird hide) short and also worthwhile. Lookout also good but not as short. No camping here but possibly an unofficial free camp down the road.
