Not really too happy with the experience I left with, although I still did have fun times, went with a group of 9 friends.
Knew it was a family place for tobogganing and skiing but near to no places on the website does it mention this below —
NO SNOWBOARDS NO HIRE GOGGLES NO HIRE GLOVES
This is predominantly a HIKING TRACK that gets snowfall on it during the winter.
Do not come to this place expecting to get a FULL DAY OF SKIING, as the lift is only for the children’s tobogganing run at the village AKA right next to one of the busiest parts of the entire park.
So when it comes to getting anywhere your walking there n back, maybe skiing 20% of the way. If you can manage to ski considering no one asked anyone in our group if we knew how to it was just heres your boots skis and pants, heres one map between 9 people and bye.
Theres actually so few spots downhill to actually ski, not to mention they give you CROSS COUNTRY SKIIS, which obviously its a cross country track but I have used normal ski an they are much easier than these small ridged cross country ones they give you...
Ended up with the sorest ankles and hips from falling down, as its more a hiking track there are rocks all down the paths under the snow.

So after my time on the slopes I returned to return my equipment & one of the older staff members mentioned I looked ‘too tired’ , I then followed on with ‘of course as I just walked around a mountain as theres actually so few spots to actually ski’
He gave me the laugh with some other younger staff members and said
‘well mate you should have went to Mt Bulla if you wanted to ski and snowboard down slopes, plus mt bulla is full today so you wouldnt get in anyway and we were full yesterday’
Well no where does it highlight at the front of any of the ski lodge or website that this place is
Cross country skiing & tobogganing only
As if that would have been easily seeable I would have went to Mt Bulla with my 9 friends who checked all the website to & went to other skii stores prior to this trip to gear up.... we still ended up buying things for your resort....
As for the staff - they might be alright with kids, but on the busiest day and after a day they were shut due to over capacity they managed to only have about 3-4 staff members doing hiring - waited in line for about 1hr 35mins to be told no snowboarding or lifts. Rest of the staff walking round looking busy
Talk about not wanting to be there felt like the staff wanted to leave more than I did tho.....Didn’t leave overly happy by this point, Next time and everytime now, I will always go back to bulla..
Thanks for the...
Read moreThat was my first time going to a snow mountain, and let me tell you, it was an incredible experience. The moment I laid my eyes on the majestic white peaks, I felt a rush of excitement and wonder. The air was crisp and cold, making me feel fully alive.
As I stepped onto the glistening snow, I couldn't help but feel a childlike joy bubbling up inside me. It was a whole new world, unlike anything I had ever experienced before. The landscape was adorned with a pristine blanket of snow, creating a picturesque scene that seemed straight out of a postcard.
With each step I took, the snow crunched beneath my boots, and I couldn't resist the urge to make a snowball and toss it playfully at my friend. Laughter echoed through the mountains as we engaged in a friendly snowball fight, forgetting all our worries and embracing the moment.
We decided to try skiing, and as I strapped on the skis, a mix of anticipation and nervousness filled my heart. With a little guidance, I found my balance and glided down the slopes, feeling an exhilarating rush of adrenaline. The wind whipped against my face, and the sensation of speed made me feel alive and free.
As the...
Read moreLake Mountain offers a stunning winter experience with beautiful alpine scenery and plenty of snow for families to enjoy. However, I was extremely disappointed with how the pricing is structured. After already paying a hefty $60 entrance fee per vehicle, I was shocked to find that access to the toboggan area required an additional ticket—charged per person. You can’t just hire a few toboggans to share among the group, which feels incredibly unfair and exploitative, especially for families.
To make matters worse, they do not allow store-bought toboggans, claiming they are unsafe and prone to breakage. I’ve used my own toboggans for years without any issues, and I’ve seen countless others do the same. This rule feels less about safety and more like a blatant attempt to force visitors to rent their overpriced gear. It’s frustrating when an outing that should be fun and affordable becomes a cash grab at every turn.
While the snow play area itself is enjoyable and the staff are polite, the layers of added costs and restrictive rules really put a damper on the experience. For the price paid, Lake Mountain should offer better value and flexibility to...
