I recently had the opportunity to embark on a kayaking adventure with Sydney Kayak, and it was an experience that exceeded all my expectations. .

Our family had a wonderful day paddling with Sam in the Napean Gorge. He was so organized with everything from communicating once I had made the reservation to letting us know exactly what to bring to having everything set up for us neatly when we arrived. On top of all this, he set up the most fantastic spread for lunch that blew us all away. We expected that lunch on the river in the middle of a kayaking trip would be sandwiches but he had everything from roast chicken to fancy cheese spreads to fresh roasted vegetables and everything in between. In addition to the amazing food, he had an actual table with a tablecloth, real plates (not paper ones), and real metal utensils, not plastic ones! It was truly a gourmet meal and sharing it with my family on the banks of the peaceful river was a lovely memory. Due to the recent floods there was not a great deal of wildlife present on the day that we went yet despite this it was a wonderful trip that my family thoroughly enjoyed. We were very fortunate to win a Facebook competition for a paddle and chose the seal rocks lunch trip. Sam is exceptionally friendly, patient and knowledgeable. The seals were much closer than expected and we were able to watch them in their natural habitat from a safe distance. It was wonderful! I enjoyed Sam's facts about the seals, kayaking and the area. Used to rivers, the waves made for a different experience but I felt secure after Sam explained the high level of stability these kayaks offer. He also took the time to actively support and encourage nervous members of our group. The picnic lunch exceeded expectations and was set up/packed up so quickly with delicious and filling options. The paddle was adjusted to suit you (low) fitness levels and was the perfect amount of time for our group. We had a rainy day and the weather was judged perfectly - it certainly didn't dampen our spirits! It also meant we weren't overheating and still got a swim in. Rule number one - be safe.
