I live in remote NW Queensland, have been out on stations and travelled in cattle road trains (I know - I'm showing off!), HOWEVER - never have I ever been to a cattle sale.
What a fantastic experience. I was fortunate (or unfortunate!) to be in Alan's group. He was a font of knowledge. Explained how it all works in a fun and informative way. What appears to be a mass of bellowing beasts, is in fact a very well organised process, which is remarkably fast given the amount of cattle being auctioned.

The road train trucks transporting all the cattle are completely washed down in special wash bays they have installed to stop the spread of weeds...

The guides had speakers to amplify their voice but many on the tour said they could not hear the commentary. On the day of our visit the bull ring had a group of school kids comfortably seated yet we oldies had to stand out in the cold on equally cold grass on a 4C morning. Bit if a rethink of process is needed to make the tour more...
