100% highly recommend Bushlands and Sandbar for a perfect place to camp and chill out. we can’t thank the park manager Evan enough for his hospitality. After getting yo know him and telling our story why we were there for our mates 1year passed away reunion. They offered to make us a trophy from the park to give us as a special moment to to celebrate each year. we gave them 24 hours to make a trophy and they came back the next day with a trophy made out of a wood stump with a club mounted through the middle all minuted on a piece of wood with plaque. This kind gesture will never be forgotten and it for us to use as a momento to bring back every year to celebrate our best mate who passed away in 5 months due to melanoma cancer.

Evan and Scott both made us feel very welcome and would be obliging in anything we did. Golf - just call the number at the tee off and he says tee off and he comes out in his quad bike to take money as you go around, it’s so relaxed and the great Australia way is being kept alive. We’ll be coming back for years to come! It’s our new go to relaxed camping holiday on the mid north coast. Camping, surfing, golfing, beers around a camp fire with your best mates... this is living.

Cheers again for your great spirit and kindness MUZZA WOULD GO - reunion 2020...

We stayed at the Sandbar campground. It's in a great location with just a short walk to the lake and the beach accessible by 4WD just a short drive away. However very noisy with maintenance vehicles and equipment being used in the mornings. (Dont expect a sleep in).Noisy guests who lacked consideration for others. Amenties are old with cracked tiles in some. Most sites are quite small if you have larger camping equipment. They have security walking around at night to try to keep noise down which is great but not often adhered to. Tip: try and book a campsite or cabin towards the back. Might be further away from the amenties but could be quieter. We stayed in the first row of campsites closest to the amenties which was a nightmare. People used our site as a walkway to the toilets. Coming and going all day and night.Children were using the amenties at times for a meeting point and often noisy. There is also noise from early morning and at night from 4WD's accessing the gate to get on the beach. Steer clear of this row of campsites if you have a choice. The young couple who stayed behind us were also not happy with the campground reporting poor amenties and poor...

For younger groups of people wanting to have a bit of fun maybe visit another holiday park…..

Stayed here with a group of friends this weekend and overall experience was good but it was tarnished with the caretaker/ranger having a personal vendetta against us. As friends do we were laughing, having fun and playing music - but definitely not overly loud. What was especially ridiculous was that at 4:30pm he visited the camp site telling us to turn the music down and be quiet??? 4:30?! We respected his wishes and turned the music down and made an effort to not be so loud. Then later in the night we turned off our music and played drinking games. Despite there being another campsite on the other side of the amenities to us being SO loud, yelling and playing music - the sus ranger just parked in front of our campsite and stared at us for nearly 10 minutes….. made us incredibly uncomfortable especially since we were not making any noise...

Nice locations but unfortunately the neighbours very much spoiled the fun and enjoyed playing a very loud music in till 2 am despite caretaker driving around during the night. They were smart enough to turn down the volume and while blasting music, understand this as there’s always a group or two like this at most places and there’s a time and a place. Despite this issue it was awesome place for children not but I believe moving more up towards the front of the Bushlands would be more appropriate for kids versus the corners as that seems to be where the rowdy bunch seem to be are on a Friday to Sunday. Otherwise all a decent place to go to. Walk to the beach along the board walk is amazing the kids had a ball gong along there and the lagoon. Family friends have been coming here for 40+ years and not much has changed which I think is the best part about the location and not being commercialised too much vs other places.

Camped for a few days at a powered site on the bush side. Road in can be very dusty but watered down by tanker truck at least once that we saw. A fairly large camp ground with what felt like heaps of space. We were lucky enough to relocate sites before setting up so to be along the creek. Possums, bush turkeys, kookaburras and ducks all interested in our meal times. Possums can be noisy at night. The bay is quiet and fun to play in, though not as many walking paths or foreshore as may have been expected. Cellito is beautiful but unpatrolled though can be quite busy, open to public.. there's a short walk through the rocky headland to the north with good views along coastline and unique rock formations. The road that leads to golf club and boardwalk makes for a circuit of 2.5km walk or ride from the bush sites. Amenities kept well clean, the staff all helpful, friendly and polite.

We went camping with a few friends over the weekend and had no issues. There were plenty of sites available and we also saw a few cabins. All sites seemed to have electricity which was great and the shared facilities consist of men and women toilets with hot water showers.
