Australian PlantBank — Local services in Sydney

This is first and foremost a scientific research facility.

There are tours here, daily, at 11 am and at 1pm. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. The tours are approximately one hour in length, and take in the PlantBank building itself and the research garden. The adjacent nursery is discussed during the tour, and there are large windows where you can observe the people working in the PlantBank laboratories.

Drove a bus group there. The information shared was interesting. Part of the Mt Annan Botanical Garden site which is worth a day/picnic outing. There is a lot that goes on to achieve a good outcome in the plant bank operation. The talk was informative with some things to look at. Sorry, did not take a photo of nice new buildings. Only a photo of one native plant of personal interest...

Really interesting place. There's only a few seed banks in the world and there's one in Sydney! Just wow! Inside the place is super cool, you can see where scientists collect seeds, etc. I was there for a private function and it fitted about 120 of us for dining. I will be definitely going back to...
