Not at all the Greg Norman of Islands, Shark Island aint no major runner up/choker...it really makes a picnic sing. Accessible by $20 round trip ticket from captain Cook at wharf 6 circular quay. There's around 20 good spots to picnic in the 100mx250m Island. Not named for sharks, there's only 1 recorded case of attack, and that a few lifetimes ago. Swimmers were happy with the experience, and there's many little beached, but be warned, there's a fair bit alive in there! The views are wonderful, tree cover liberal, but last ferry is around 5pm.
