Tasman Island — Local services in Tasman

We did a Pennicott Tasman Island boat Cruise to this Island. An important landmark towards the end of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. Stunning view. Heaps of Australian fur seals, dolphins, Pacific Seagull and we saw a Shy Albatross. The only Albatross breeding in Tasmania. Unbelievable history of lighthouse keepers and families used to live on the island. Lighthouse is still active however due to modern technology, doesn't need a keeper anymore. Friends of Tasman Island oversee the buildings. Feral cats were eradicated a couple of years ago, therefore the island is a bird breeding...

What a wild and beautiful place this is, surrounded by ocean and inhabited by seals and birdlife. There's a feeling of being at the end of the world. Bottlenose dolphins may greet you and whales may be seen, but like all humans you're just a visitor to a place...
