MV GEORGE ROBINSON the red boat - a gorgeous vessel fitted out with Tassie timber and brass. This lovely vessel has been plying the Arthur river for 37 years. She's got a heart of gold and a crew to match. Emma, our skipper, & Kaitlyn were the best! Their information & service was pure gold.
We were welcomed onboard at 9:45 am and within no time it was 3 pm. How time flies when you are enjoying your day. Our lunch, a BBQ at Turks Landing, was great. Turks Landing is pretty special and Kaitlyn was a wealth of knowledge and interesting knowledge too.
The river is so serene (and deep). But the stars of the show, the white bellied sea eagles, did not disappoint. We had the opportunity to see them fed twice. What an amazing bird! Their nest was massive and clearly visible from the boat. The nest is 50 years old, hence its size, and it is quite impressive to see.
Thank you to Arthur River Cruises for an unforgettable day on the Arthur River. You went above and beyond to make sure our day was special.

Read moreDeluxe cruise, pre booked 2 adults, early April. Absolutely amazing day exceeding our expectations from start to finish. We were lucky with the weather, the river was still and perfect for reflections, the commentary from our Hosts, Emma and Boris was engaging and enlightening adding another level to the cruise. We watched sea eagles dive for the offered fish bits and were served a grazing board of local fruit, meats and cheeses for morning tea. We travelled 14 klms up stream with further commentary about the seasonal impacts on the river, what grows where and why and how the forest supports itself before a gourmet BBQ lunch at their camp pavilion. A guided walk through the forest gave the group more insight in an up close and personal way with the old growth trees and plants the stars of the conversation. Home made desserts were served on the return journey. Boris shares his passion for the river and forest in the most engaging way, and we came away feeling privileged to have been able to share the day in such amazing surroundings. This is a must do cruise, it’s like an extension of the Tarkine Drive, stay locally at the van park or a short drive from Smithton. Highly recommended, we loved...
Read moreA fantastic family cruise business which is run in a very professional and friendly manner. We were fortunate to have very little wind on the way us river, providing us with stunning reflections along our journey. We encountered a stunning pair of White Bellied Sea Eagles of which the cruise has a permit from Parks and Wildlife to feed. We got several opportunities to photograph the eagles while perched, in flight and also picking up the food from the water surface. It made for an extremely enjoyable and exciting encounter. The food on the cruise included morning tea with a splendid platter of homemade beetroot and cashew spread, assorted fruits, cheeses and meat for morning tea and supplemented with various drinks from juices, water, wine and champagne. Lunch was Scotch fillet steak, lamb sausage, boiled potato, lettuce, tomato, cheese, coleslaw, quinoa and sweet potato salad, beet root and condiments. Desert on the way back down river was homeade sticky date cupcake with icing and hedgehog slice. The overall experience exceeded all expectations and I highly recommend the cruise for anyone visiting the west coast...
