[UPDATED AFTER A FRIEND'S REVIEW GOT ACCUSED OF BEING RUDE WHEN WE CLEARLY WEREN'T] Another person in our party left a very regular review - nothing nasty or rude at all, not glowing but also nothing very negative. Just that the tasting experience wasn't as good because the lady even admitted not knowing much about wine. But we had a great friendly chat with the staff and even got invited to another event after so we can't understand how our group got accused of being rude and mean to them - clearly a case of mistaken identity or pure lies - either way, this isn't the way to run your google reviews, socials or business for that matter. So sad because we actually had a decent time but this has COMPLETELY RUINED our memory of this place. Never coming back!!!!! (My initial review below) Really pretty place with gorgeous views, the wines were just alright though. The tasting sesh was $15 for 4 pours (but they were a little on the tiny side) and the server was friendly enough but hardly knew anything to share abt the products. We picked what we wanted for our meat and cheese board and they set it up for us really nicely. There's a wonderful indoor area too with actual grapes hanging from the vines near the ceiling, and lots of fruit trees around. Tiny warning about the toilets though. They have compost toilets which are great for the environment but might not be everyone's cup of tea (read: no flushing water). There are 2 cute older dogs on the property who are...
Read moreWe visited Marion's Vineyard on Saturday 22/7/2023. We were greeted by Marion & son Nick. We were so blown away that they had Mavrodaphne wine... we decided to grab a bottle to compliment our cheese platter, a self chosen selection of Tasmanian Southern Sky cheeses, deli meats, Marion's very own housemade crostini, & homegrown marinated Olives! Being Greek we have eaten our fair share of many many different Olives over the years....Marion's Olives are the best we have ever had! Sooo good! We even purchased a few jars for home! We sat at the picturesque courtyard & drinking the delicious bottle of wine & devouring the extremely tasty cheese platter.... we were preparing for the trip home when Nick let us know that we were sitting amongst Tasmanian wine maker Josef Chromy. We asked Marion & Josef if they were happy for a photo and they both obliged. We left Marion's feeling blessed to have experienced such a wonderful afternoon. We were so overwhelmed by the afternoons events that we left without indulging in a wine tasting...thankfully we were able to return again today to enjoy a wine tasting & purchase a selection of wines to complete our Tassie dozens! Marion & Nick thank you for your warming hospitality. You embody every sense of the Greek word Philotimo! We will share our experience with friends & make sure we return to visit again...
Read moreAbsolutely beautiful venue that's great for photos. Unfortunately, the wine tasting was average at best. No explanations or service whatsoever, with the girl at the counter admitting she didn't know much about wines. Platters were beautifully presented but way too expensive for what you get.
Response to the owners response below: Very shocked to see the lies you have written below, my family and I complained about nothing and your staff said goodbye to us happily (we were one of the last to leave that day). Please don't spread lies, you might have mistaken us for another group. My review was fair and true, and I think it's sad that you have to resort to such comments. We were visiting from country South Australia ourselves and I've never encountered a business that has been so rude.
For the record, we visited on the 16th of January and there was no owner present. Please check your facts and talk to your staff. We paid for two tastings and a platter, and the...
