Perfect to get away for a few days, especially if you have kids. The hosts, Matt and Jo are very friendly and accommodating. Matt is a wealth of knowledge and is willing to tell you all about the farm and the animals as he takes you round to feed them of an evening. Ducks, chooks, goats, alpacas, pigs, cows, and a giant rabbit - most will eat from your hand. Perfect primer for city kids! ;) There are a couple of dams on the property, apparently with a resident platypus or two, but we didn't spot any unfortunately. And plenty of apple trees, naturally!

We stayed in Eden, the smaller of the units. The accommodation itself was warm, clean and very comfortable - a balance of modern and cosy, with no fireplace but a new heat pump. Small but fully equipped kitchen (though no oven other than a microwave), large accessible shower, plenty of books, board games, DVDs and children's toys for those inevitable rainy days!

Cygnet town is a very short drive away, and it's a great base for exploring the Huon Valley and The Channel. Some beautiful beaches and picnic spots not too far away as well. I highly recommend at least three nights, and bring a pair of gumboots if you can!!

Oh, there is no wifi in the units. There is at reception (when it's open) and mobile data coverage isn't too bad. But seriously, consider leaving...

We really enjoyed our time at the barn (mum, dad and 2yo). It was the perfect escape from suburban life to experience something completely different. Firstly, the barn itself was fantastic! The day we arrived was super hot outside yet the barn was so nice and cool inside without the need for air conditioning. Plenty of space in the barn and it was so thoughtfully furnished with some nice touches like the little mice (not real ones) hidden around the barn to find throughout the stay. The main shower/ bathroom was heavenly. Another great touch was the local milk, bread and juice left out for us along with butter, jam and numerous condiments to use when cooking our own meals. Another great touch was the farm fresh eggs and the yummy blackberries that we picked fresh each afternoon. |By far the highlight for us was seeing the absolute joy and excitement on the face of our little girl feeding the goats, ducks, chickens, highland cows and alpacas. After being shown how to do the feeding the first day by farmer Matthew, we were then left to our own devices to do the feeding after that which we absolutely loved. |We were sad to go and would love to return again someday soon. Highly recommend the barn for those looking for an easy, fun and relaxing farm...

We had a lovely stay at Eden Farm Stay – The accommodation was great for our family of 4, we had a great outdoor eating area we used when the weather was good. There were lots of little additions inc. needle and thread, books, DVDs to make it feel like a home away from home and some complementary food items on arrival to help get you started that was great esp. as we arrived late at night. Matthew gave great feeding tours with our boys that allowed them to interact and feed the animals that was great. There was an area of the farm that has a bunch of fossils that made for a great morning exploring for the family. There was a fire pit we used one evening to toast marshmallow and a place Matthew showed us where the Pademelon could be spotted early evening. We borrowed the farms fishing gear one day to go down to one of the jetties for a fish. We had a week in the area and there was more than enough to keep us busy for all that time. A great area to visit and a great choice of...

From the 1st contact, jolanda reply is so prompt helpful and friendly I immediately booked with her. The house is so charming rustic countryside clean and wow! 4 bedroom is spacious and all to yourself. Feeding animals is amazing and we especially love the Highland cattles handsome Thor and scrubbing my little goats who loves a little scrub and coming for more. Apples is everywhere for you to pick. Is the whole experience is just so nice! Matthew and jolanda are super friendly people. Is not our 1st farmstay but is our best so far! O and the nocturnal tour, my 4yo son loves it. Only pity is never get to see the aurora but I will be back again ! Thank u for the stay! FYI they nv even ask me to review but I told them is so wonderful I definitely gonna leave a review for them

We love visiting Eden Farmstay! We have been visiting once or twice a year since my daughter was 2 and a half, and she is now almost 6. The wonderful thing about visiting the farm is that it doesn't matter what time of year we go, there is always something interesting happening. The accommodation was always clean and comfortable, but the new barn conversion has taken it to a new level of comfort and style. Matt and Jo are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The highlight is the daily feeding of the animals. I'm hoping that we will be lucky enough to see the Aurora Australis from the Barn deck next time we are there, it's the perfect spot. We missed it by one night last time we were there!
