This rating would be 100 stars if google would allow it. I had the privilege to attend GreenValleys MTB Park on the 9th and 10th of march to participate in the Park 101 and Jump 101 clinics. When I made the booking I spoke with Tilly about booking only the jumps clinic as I have previously had training with a pmbia coach. After a quick chat I decided to book both clinics. This is by far the best decision I have made on my MTB journey.
The first day in park 101 we worked on fundamental skills like body position, braking, cornering and trail awareness. By the end of the day I was combining all these skills like never before. I went from a confident rider flying down the hill to confident rider going faster and with more control than ever! It really did feel like a mic drop moment!
The second day in jumps 101 everything is broken down and explained in an easy to understand format. (You will probably learn a few phrases that will stick in your head as they get repeated and remind you to follow the process). This is followed by lots of repetition and experimenting with speed and timing. During the day you will cover short and long transitions, tabletops, gaps and drops. You will get to practice all this on the best designed and maintained trails I have been lucky enough to ride.
This really is the best thing I have done to improve my riding experience. No bike upgrade can compare to a rider upgrade and my experience at GreenValleys was exactly that.
Thank you to everyone involved and cheers to the mates I made...
Read moreHad a fantastic day today! I'm a beginner level rider. And when rode before used to skid all the time. I skided at kids loop at Wylde mtb park to give an idea how basic I was. Coach(and co-owner) Tilly started with the very basics and has been so patient correcting my technique and doing same exercises over and over... over and over... and extended version, and over again, gradually building up my skills level and confidence . As a result, by the end of the session I was able to ride the same trail I walked carrying my bike at the very start as I was too scared. Thank you so much Tilly! I'll definitely be back! Overall, the park is very well maintained and though through. Variety of routs to train different sets of skills (turns, drops, jumps, etc.) and plenty of jumps including extra huge jumps for...
Read moreGV has more attention to detail when it comes to skills progression than an Olympic Russian gymnast coach. No where in Australia will you find facilities that will cater for not just anyone wanting to ride bigger features and safely move up the size and technicality - you are also spoiled by sealed road shuttles on a mini bus (no bumpy troopy rides up fire roads gnarlier than a DH track) and your bike gets transported to the trail head on a schmick as, SpotX trailer.
Drops, rocks, gaps bigger than the void between you an your ex (for those keen to go there), airbag with a 3m kicker to practice all your #stuntzz and an awesome place to meet new people - it has a great community feel to it.
Book quick as everything sells out due to limited numbers to keep the experience boutique and not...
