Beautiful lookout! Well worth the drive. Just be mindful, the drive to the parking is a one-way road. We got lucky no one was coming the other way, there isn’t anywhere to really pull over and let people pass, someone would have to reverse the way they came. Road is also full of gigantic potholes. But it’s fine, our Getz made it lol. It is a short walk down to the lookout area, probably about 400m, if that. But it is steep, and there are lots of steps. Aside from those two things, the view is stunning, even better in person and the sounds of the various wildlife come alive if you sit still for a while. Highly recommended if you want to go for a walk!

Quite a scenic lookout with a pair of platforms. Have a glimpse of part of tyers river flowing down below if you are not scared of looking down from a height. Only one picnic table on site. Be prepared for a short steep ascend if you go to the platform further down, but it's manageable because of the steps put in place. The road to the lookout favors SUVs and on a wet season, I would not really recommend a sedan even though the road seems to be a gravel one. No toilets here and definitely no accessible parking or entrance.

One of the nicest scenic lookouts in Gippsland which sits above the Tyers Gorge and overlooks Tyers Park. A short steep walk down to the two lookouts, the whole walk is only a few hundred metres. It has steps for most of the distance as well as a handrail. This walk is suitable for young children. To get there turn off the Tyers-Walhalla road at the brown lookout sign. The road is unsealed and has a lot of potholes but cars won't have any issues getting to the carpark.

If you’re exploring Gippsland, Peterson’s Lookout is absolutely worth a stop. The drive out is long, narrow, and a bit nerve-racking — basically a one-vehicle road that twists all the way to the small car park. The walk down to the lookout is steep (and on windy days, a little challenging), but once you arrive, the views are breathtaking: vast, peaceful, and serene. It’s the kind of place that makes you pause and really soak in the beauty of the landscape and Mother Nature.

That said, I wouldn’t recommend making the trip just for the lookout alone. The drive is too long and winded for such a short adventure. Best to plan it as part of a bigger...

It was a narrow dirt road getting down to the lookout carpark, a bit awkward in places in the Yaris I was in, I wouldn't recommend driving there in a Yaris or other 2 wheeled drive when the track is wet.

The 250 metre walk down to the lookout is a bit steep, there is a handrail on one side, but it's not the easiest walk.

Once you get to the lookout there's a great view looking out over the river and valley, the actual lookout itself is an impressive construction jutting out almost over the river itself, I thought it was worth the walk down and the drive, even if it was a bit iffy with strong winds...
