I cannot recommend this highly enough, this is a definite 'MUST DO' when in Katherine. The whole Outback Experience team are just so passionate about everything they do. We loved the horses, the working dogs (oh my gosh the puppies were SO adorable), and the goats, donkey, water buffalo and Brahman calves were just an added bonus. Being able to get up close to the animals was such a treat and being able to watch the team train the horses and working dogs was so very entertaining and educational....there was certainly lots of laughter to be had. Tom Curtain is one very, very talented gentleman (in every sense)...he blew us away with his singing and musical talents, his horse riding abilities, and his obvious love, dedication and talent for training the animals. We were treated so very well by the entire team, with treats and morning tea provided with a smile. I also purchased Tom's latest CD, 'We're Still Here' and it's absolutely brilliant! The love and passion he has for his family and for the bush is so evident throughout the Outback Experience show and in every song on his CD. Thanks guys for a fabulous morning. If we didn't live so far away we'd come back again...
Read moreThis is without doubt one of the best shows we have experienced on our around Australia caravan trip. Tom and his assistants provided an excellent service ensuring that you were comfortable during the show. Tom personally greeted everyone that came, and the girls came around with a cold refreshing towel for you to keep cool in the massive under cover arena. The kids could also interact with some the animals during the show. The show was a complete learning experience seeing how wild horses were broken in for riding and cattle mustering. The way Tom handled and trained the working dogs was absolutely incredible using only his voice to command the dogs to do certain mustering and rounding up tasks. The dogs were totally fixed on Tom and you could see the special bond that he has made with each of the animals at the show. To be able to instruct a horse to round up cattle without and reins on the horse and using only clicking sounds of his mouth and subtle movements with his legs were enough for the horse to understand what was required.
You also got a lovely cold icy pole...
Read moreWe are from the grazing and horse and working dog background and wanted to have an authentic Northern Territory Experience. We looked at staying at Cattle stations, but there wasn't the activities of horse and dog training to experience and some of these stations were out of our price range. With 2 hours of authentic horse and dog work and working the horses and dogs together brought tears to our eyes to celebrate our love for " The Absolute brilliance of being the best unique Australian way of training our work buddies and our friends our beautiful Australian Stockhorses and working sheep and cattle dogs. " . Leaves anythy else behind. Tom and his show is absolute best of the best ." The beautiful music and heartfelt moments brought a tear to my eye as my husband and I celebrated 40 years of marriage this July. Highly recommend this unique and authentic Northern Territory Australian experience. Thankyou also for the great morning tea. Great value for...
