Hartleys Creek Retreat — Local services in Wangetti

This place is so incredibly beautiful and fantastic! It is about a 40 minute drive from the Cairns airport. We decided to rent a car and make the drive ourselves so we could also visit Port Douglas and nearby beaches. It took a minute to get used to driving on that side but it ended up being the best way to navigate around. We met both Dean and his mother briefly and they were both very lovely and helpful. Other than that we had this magical forest wonderland all to ourselves with the local birds and fish in the creek. There are white sandy beaches just minutes away where you can have the entire beach to yourself. We even saw dolphins jumping in the water.

The house was clean and comfortable and stocked with everything we could need including milk, bread, butter and coffee and also towels and outlet converters. There were two showers, one conveniently located right outside of the kitchen off of the gorgeous wrap-around patio so we could shower off after a day at the beach without bringing sand in.

Generally I don't write reviews at all. However, this place was honestly a cut above. Recently Stay in Apartment 1 and what an amazing experience with all the creature comforts within and outside the house. It is conviently located 5 min walk to beach and 40min walk to a breathtaking waterfall. The property was welcoming, clean and absolutely abundant with beautiful wildlife (birds & geckos).
