If you've seen my other posts, you know I make fun of people, so it's time to make fun of myself...before getting to the actual spot, there is a warning fence and gate that mentions how dangerous it can be because of the drop-off. Well I had never seen any kind of gate like this one before, so I literally spent 2 minutes trying to figure out how the unlock mechanism worked. I felt so stupid, and was worried someone would see me just standing there not knowing how to get through a child-proof lock! Eventually, I saw the obvious thing to pull up on and was on my way, but I knew that I had to have looked incredibly stupid to all my ancestors looking on down on me from Heaven....

As a wedding photographer, I can say that Sphinx Rock Lookout is certainly a breathtaking spot. My eloping clients had their small ceremony here, and it did not disappoint. The panoramic view made everything twice as special and the vow-reading as sweet as it could be.

It's a convenient location for intimate weddings. The path leading to it is well-maintained and easy enough to walk on. When you reach the lookout point, you'll be rewarded with a peaceful and beautiful sight that makes the short hike well worth it. So I highly recommend this to couples looking for an outdoor...

Went for an evening walk with Cub Scout group. Weather was a bit chilly with a brisk cold wind but that soon eased under the trees. Fabulous views of Hobart along this easy gentle grade.

Be careful at the look out as there is no barrier on the rock shelf. We suffered a hat casualty from the wind.

The return journey was enchanting in the half light. We had torches but they weren't really needed because the white lichen on the rocks made the path...

Such a great view, and an easy 1.5km walk from the Springs. There's a safety gate with a child lock on it as you approach for lookout, make sure you push it to the right and remember which way you pushed so you can get back through it. Had to help a tourist get back out because he couldn't work it out! Such a pretty place. Recommend visiting then a hot chocolate at the cafe back at the Springs!
