If remote and secluded is what you are looking for, Kuri Bay is where you’ll find it. This isolated bay on the Australian mainland is only accessible by sea or seaplane. Helping shelter the bay is one of Australia’s largest uninhabited islands, Augustus Island. My wife and I visited here in May 2023 on a cruise ship. The bay is home to a Paspaley Pearls farming operation. There are no facilities here other than the pearl farm. The day we visited the weather was quite mild with temperature in the low 30’s (Celsius). The visibility was sightly affected by smoke from grass fires in the nearby Kimberley region. Our tour guide was young and a bit nervous but, I guess he was not employed as a guide. If you get the opportunity, well worth the visit....
