Stopped at the massive granite rock on the way to Windy Harbour in Sep 23. Reasonably short and easy dirt track walk to where the granite starts. Some steep sections though from there. Important to have shoes with good grip. There are small white triangles on the stone pointing along the recommended route. Some sweet micro-environments on the way and a few orchids and small wildflowers. The top has plenty more to explore though one should be alert to the possibility of slipping off the edge. There is also no shelter on a sunny day so be sure to wear a hat. Running up the slope while exploring the top I gave myself a strained calf muscle injury. Made the trip down and back to the car interesting, as well as the rest of the day at the Windy Harbour lookout and short walks/limps. Nevertheless, enjoyed the visit and the view, and will check it out again if we are...

We really enjoyed the walk trail to the summit and the information about how the landscape was formed. What makes it special is the plant variety on the mountain and the view of "Karri tree islands" in the distance from the summit. It's a 40minute return trip, 30 minutes return if you are just interested in getting to the summit. The last part (steepest bit) is more a very steep walk than a climb to the summit. We went late afternoon and were lucky enough to see some golden whistlers...

Definitely worth the stop and the hike. The sign says 1 hour but we managed up and back in about 30 minutes. Not for the faint of heart or those with limited mobility. This is one big chunk of rock that gets steep. Some helpful steps and walkways make the climb easier and protect the local fauna. The view from the top is outstanding. All the way to the coast and the dunes in...

This is a hidden gem that not enough people talk about. There are amazing sweeping 360 views from the top. Be prepared to climb up some rocks to reach the peak. There are toilets onsite. I will definitely be returning.

Awesome view! It’s a shorter hike up to a spectacular view. I wish I had worn more than slip on sandals but I made it up and down without an accident. The sign says 1hr return but I’d say it’s more 30-40 minutes.
