So, picture this: the Harris family, under the blazing sun at Yamba Shores Tavern, snagged the meat raffle jackpot, and let me tell you, our victory dance rivaled a Broadway show. As we clung to our meaty treasures, little did we know the Russels and Flemings were eyeing our sausages like they were gourmet gold.
We settled into our tables, and the junior negotiators made a beeline for the playground. There, sausage-for-swing deals were being brokered faster than a Wall Street trade. But, of course, our culinary conquest wasn't complete without a touch of humor.
The menu became a battlefield of gastronomic strategy. We debated colossal steaks like seasoned generals, while the Flemings argued over the ideal meat tray like it was a work of art. The other families, in silent collusion, ordered a delightful mishmash that could rival a Michelin-starred fusion feast.
Now, let's talk about the mighty Clarence River and its bream, the unsung heroes of our waterfront comedy. Forget fishing rods; our kids turned feeding into an avant-garde performance, tossing bread and chips to the bream who, I swear, were critiquing their technique.
As the food arrived, it was a culinary clash of the titans. Each family aimed for epicurean glory, all while the coveted meat tray became the centerpiece of some high-stakes banter. It was a feast so grand, even royalty would have been envious.
Amid bites of culinary brilliance, we swapped tales of adventures, laughter resonating over the waters like a stand-up comedy show. The junior culinary artists, victorious in their feeding escapade, proudly showcased their bream to an audience of pelicans who seemed genuinely impressed.
Yamba Shores Tavern transformed into more than a lunch spot; it was the stage for a clever culinary saga. The spacious dining area, kids' play equipment, great food selection, and ample parking set the scene for our family comedy, starring none other than the Harris family – conquerors of meat raffles and maestros of...
Read moreVisited yesterday for a late lunch about 1.45, soon after they were calling for last orders as the kitchen apparently closed at 2pm yet the website just said lunch from 11.30 with no end time so we assumed it must go all the way through. When we arrived we were told to sit at one of the empty high tables beside the river which was a good spot however cool and windy at the time and the three available tables all had empty glasses on them and hadn’t been cleaned. Upon ordering I asked for a fish burger with no tartare sauce but was told by an older lady that they weren’t doing any adjustments because it was too busy and when I questioned it she said they had orders for over 40 burgers yet there were a lot of empty tables and most appeared to have already eaten their meals. She came across as extremely rude and abrupt. We didn’t come across any staff who were friendly. We both had the battered fish and chips, the salad which accompanied it had one cherry tomato and mostly green leaves drowned in dressing which I don’t like but obviously was not able to ask for one without dressing. The fish was very greasy but the chips were good. Also was a box on the table with cutlery in it but was practically empty and didn’t realise until we had finished the salt and pepper was hidden in there. We were not at all impressed with the overall experience. Go to the bowls club instead .. food nicer and cheaper and the staff...
Read moreArrived to grab a quick drink while our son played. Understood it was a public holiday and we didn't reserve a table but the lady at the front desk area was soooo rude. I explained we were not coming in for lunch and did not expect a table but she abruptly told us to leave as without a booking we were not even able to enter for a drink at the bar. Will not be back and will not recommend
Edit after response After reading your review and others you do not seem to have respect for any people or visitors to the area. As my review stated we understood that it was a busy day. I was after a coffee and my husband was simply getting a coke. At 11:30 there was NO 2 up being played so your response is false. As a tourist I do not follow your social media but some simple respect from staff would go a long way to people who visit as we were not the only family we had the same impression so much so we were actually approached by a local who informed us of somewhere else to go where our son could play and that the staff in surrounding business were polite. As a fellow business owner you must be fine with upsetting the public. Perhaps some manner lessons would be of...
