Beautiful, well maintained structure, the whole region of Qakh is worth visiting, inside tower they make a type of museum which is also worth visiting. The ticket is very nominal only 1 mannat. On the way back we were searching for the other tower but we lost, fortunately a very humble guy took us in his old lada to drove us all the way to show us the way to the other tower. Very nice and friendly man who happened to be the mayor of that town , 😳

Dağlıq ərazilərdə yaşayan insanların ailəsi ilə birlikdə düşməndən qorunmaq üçün yaşayış evinə bitişik inşa etdikləri müdafiə qülləsinin bir örnəyidir. Qüllənin inşasında çay daşından, əhəng məhlulundan və bişmiş kərpicdən istifadə olunmuşdur. Qalanın adıyla bağlı bir sıra mülahizələr mövcuddur. Rəvayətə görə qüllə Sumu xan adlı bir İlisu hakimi tərəfindən inşa etdirilmışdir. Lakin tarixi mənbələrdə Sumu xan yox, sadəcə Usmi (dağlı hakimlərə verilən titul məsələn Qaytaq usmisi) titulu ilə bir müddət sultanlığı ıdarə etmiş Məhəmməd xanın adına rast gəlinir.

It is an example of a defense castle that is adjacent to a dwelling house of people living in the mountainous region with the aim of protection from the enemy. In the construction of the tower, river stones, lime mortar and baked bricks were used. There are some considerations regarding the name of the fortress.

It was amazing experience for me when i visited this place. It is tall, good-preserved tower. It has campus-like area that tiled gravel. By the way, You should pay 1 manat for entrance fee. There are much many monumental things, ancient items in each storey of Tower. Plates, ancient clothes, ancient household...
