Sonadia Island is situated about 7 Km from Cox’s Bazar. If you like to visit the Island, you have to reach Maheshkhali Ghat or Kasturi Ghat of Cox’s Bazar. Speed Boats and Trawlers are available to go to the Island. We hired a speed boat, which took about 20 minutes to reach there. Journey to the Island and back by speed boat was really exciting. It’s a small Island but very beautiful and a paradise for migratory birds like ducks, sea-gulls, fowls and geese etc. You will find many eye catching Cactus plants and a safe place for sea turtles. Sonadia Island known as an ‘Island of miracle’ is located 16 km. South-west of Cox’s Bazar town and by the side of Moheshkhali Island. It is geographically under the administration of Moheshkhali upazila. The area of Sonadia is 9.5 sq.
