Love the soft serve 🍦 and it is one of their hot products as it has a very aromatic smell and tastes really good. The bubble tea is great and the way I like it. KEEP in mind that if you are the type that loves sugar, drinks soda and bubble tea frequently, you may need to ask them to add a bit extra (to accommodate your sugary palette). They don’t use corn syrup so you are getting real sugar. Personally for me, the sugar level is right on. The ambience is great and love the design of the store. No very distracting and very artistic and above all, very fashionable. Little tip for those that complaint about waiting... when a business is “hot” specially in NYC ( a city of 8+ million people), you should expect a wait (same at other places that are hot and sell even inferior bubble tea). The longest wait that I had at this place was 5-8 minutes, but was surprise that it wasn’t too long specially with the crowds. That says a lot about the staff and their ability to serve their customers. I read some reviews and noticed that people compare them to gong cha, coco, or boba guys. Funny thing is that this place is on a different class of its own. It is fresh and doesn’t use powders or corn syrup. All other places are very similar in price, but you don’t get the quality or freshness that you will get here. If you are new to bubble tea, I recommend maybe the green tea grape fruit or matcha lemonade. If you have never ever had any asian drinks, don’t be afraid. It is just tea and juice and healthier than that bucket of soda you probably get at the movies.

I've come here a number of times since it opened in Summer 2017 and have had a mix of experiences. The first few times I visited, the service was slow and the drinks I ordered were much less sweet than typically found at other boba spots. There was even one occasion when I believe I ordered the fresh grapefruit yakult ($5 for a M plus regular bubbles) and it was so sour I had to add simple syrup back at my office to make it more bearable to drink. Since that time, however, things have gotten better (not sure if that's because my choices have been better or the service has become more experienced). One item I really enjoyed was the Oreo Milk Shake ($4.50 for a M plus regular bubbles). I've never had a milkshake with boba so the fact that it actually was really good was great treat! I know the soft serve ice cream is also a very popular item here, which I will definitely try once the weather gets a bit warmer. *Tip: They have a loyalty program where you can get any free medium drink or soft serve including a topping when you make 7 purchases.

This place itself is cozy and what you would expect in downtown Manhattan. I've seen many friends come here for their tea flavored soft serve ice cream and so I wanted to try it for myself (although probably months later...). I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. I got the swirl so it was a combination of two tea flavors. I forget what they were but they were both packed with a strong tea taste. I absolutely loved it. And even for a cold day it hit the sweet spot. You can also get bubbles as toppings. I opted for both the mini and regular ones. I would just get the regular ones because the mini ones looked nice and were a cool, different concept, but with the soft serve the bubbles got hard easily and didn't add much to it. The regular bubbles were pretty chewy still. Would definitely come back in the summertime for a nice cool treat!

Great frozen treat! I tried their ice cream with the mini boba and mixed the 2 flavor options together! So refreshing on a warm day. Not heavy and the medium was just the right size! Would definitely recommend if there is a semi short line. However most days and times the line extends out the door and down the street. Luckily we spotted the shop when the line was just to the door. They do try to move guests in and out quickly but it is crowded and can get tricky to move around in the space to not drop anything or be in the way of the next set of patrons. However, I would recommend. Boba was well made and the ice cream as well. Their waffle cooke was also a favorite topping among my group. Would be interesting to try some more of their topping options too or parts of their menu apart from the ice cream. Maybe come fall time haha

Love the pink and white theme! The place was simple yet very cute! We tried the Anniversary Special, the dessert was so cute! They were out of the Blue Oolong so they substituted it with Iron Goddess. It was an Iron Goddess and Rose Matcha swirl topped with chocolate powder, Oreo bits and an anniversary cake pop! It was super adorable. As for flavour, the tea flavoured soft serve was strong and creamy! Loved the Iron Goddess and the Rose Matcha combo. Out of the two flavors we liked the Iron Goddess better, but the rose matcha tea was very unique and we would definitely recommend you try it if you are looking for something different. We also tried the Iron Goddess Latte. Not sure if it they forgot to add sugar or it was intentional. The latte wasn’t sweet enough for us but the tea flavour was sure there. The tea was strong and thick.

I waited 35 minutes for my soft serve with tapioca, and it wasn’t even very crowded. Eventually, I saw a worker line up cups with tapioca but did not add in the soft serve for 15 minutes. When I asked about it, she said my matcha lemonade was being made. I told her I was waiting for soft serve. She said it would be another 10 minutes. I was late for a meeting and told her I wanted to cancel the order as I had to go. She then rushed to the machine to add the soft serve. It would have been good had they not run out of regularly sized tapioca, and if it hadn’t been sitting out for quite some time. The ice cream melts fast and I had to gulp it down before rushing to get a cab. They are incredibly understaffed, especially when there is a crowd, and the workers are also very young. If you decide to come, be sure you leave 30 minutes or so.

The dream of having bubble tea at my wedding would not have been possible without Bar Pa Tea. Gloria, Patrick and the entire service team were professional from start to finish - it never felt like a hassle and a hustle to get a quote or to figure out the timeline. As a bride who opted to do most of the planning herself, the importance of ease of interaction cannot be overstated. I did not have to micromanage this team of professionals - they have everything they do down to a science. As for the tastiness of the bubble tea and soft serve - I have to say that the soft serve is 100000% worth the additional, if your budget can swing it, get it. Everything was so good and my guests were lining up until the end of the night! I can't say enough about the team or how they really delivered!
