Placencia is a really nice and cute tourist area in Belize. It’s a long peninsula that is quickly being developed (ongoing) for tourism. There are tons of resorts, shops, resturant, and tourist activities especial at the far end. It’s safe and great place to experience semi urban Belize. It’s very narrow with the bay on one side and the sea on the other. I would recommend no more then a few days there.

Nice beach to hangout. If the water is rough on the east side you can always count on the water around the point being calm. So many great new upgrades by the village council, tourism and community. They have added a wooden boardwalk, benches, trash cans and a great big chair for photos.local musicians play sometimes.

It was such a wonderful visit. The beach was scanty with people, which was great, given the current times. The residents, as usual are very amicable people.

This is a truly unique place. The atmosphere is super friendly and laid back. You are immersed with the locals much more than any vacation I have been on but it's a great thing as they are friendly and easy going. There are, like at any beach, some locals trying to sell you stuff but again, they are very nice and not pushy in the least. We said hello to a man working in one of the unfinished houses (and there are lots of those) and he invited us into the house to show us what he was working on which was doing the finish sanding on about seven hand carved mahogany doors which were amazing and beautiful. It's not a young crowd and there aren't many children here (except the locals.) It's not the least bit scary or threatening here and you can walk around at night, even though the back streets and not feel remotely unsafe. If for example you fell and cried out, I am sure the locals and tourists alike would come running to help. The tourists are happy but without the hectic laying out to get suntanned or the feeling you need to get wasted to have a fun vacation. If you want a friendly easy going beautiful place to relax this...

Still a bit mote rustic, less touristic, an absolutely lovely, calm and safe place for a sun vacation. Especially for serious fishing and scuba diving. The reefs are amazing. I swam with 19 sharks and two giant sting rays in total peace and calm. The food is great, the locals are charming. Service, food and accommodations are great and all think you need is available. And they all...
