Talo Dzong & community tshechu 30th March 2023 The stunning spring morning in Talo village was the perfect backdrop for their annual tshechu. The sun shone brightly as an energized and refreshing breeze blew through the village. Despite the peace of the morning, however, it was impossible to ignore the shockingly huge crowd that had gathered. Before long, a light rain and strong wind swept across the village, but the festive spirit was too strong for a few droplets to break! With music, laughter, and the excitement of the crowd, the village had a beautiful day, made all the better by a quick google photo update to share the joy.

Visited during the Talo Tshechu and it was a truly memorable experience. The monastery is beautifully decorated, the dances are vibrant, and the whole community gathers in such a joyful, colorful way. The road up to Talo is already worth the trip — winding through terraced fields with stunning valley views all around. It’s peaceful, authentic, and feels far from the usual tourist trail. If you can, time your visit with the festival, but even on a quiet day, it’s a magical place.
