Great experience. 👍 This is probably (and most likely) the only thing that you will do in Uyuni 😀 A few notes: in my opinion 1 day tour is enough (if you decide to do more than 1 day, make sure you ask about the accommodation and heating at night in the accommodation, and also electricity as some of the salt falts don't have electricity and mainly operated by a few hours of fuel generators a day) the weather can get quiet cold and harsh so I recommend have proper warm clothing. bring a blanket or two from your hotel if you can take a warm hat, scarf and gloves. The cold wind is not forgiving. take 50+ sunscreen and apply generously if you don't want to suffer the day after. Don't forget to put sun protection on your lips and your ears, if you don't want painful and brittle cracks on them the day after. Altitude won't be in your favour, so if you are not used to it sooner or later you will feel it, best remedy drink lots of water and chew on coca leaves (locals swear on its remedial power for altitude skiness) the main attractions of 1 day tour are: 1 Train cemetery (this is actually only 5 mins drive from Uyuni itself), 2 driving on the salt, 3 salt hotel (generally that's were tours have their lunch there, but there is no cooking as there is no electricity), 4 pictures with some dianasuer toys (have fun you will be suprised with the results), 5 cactus island (30 BOB cash entry fee which includes moderate hike of 40 to 60mins return, plus you can use tye bathrooms unlimited, rare case in this area) 6 Sunset (this one was the highlight for me) if you are going by yourself make sure take some rain boots as towards the end and depending on the season there is a pool of water on the salt. if you are going by yourself make sure ask locals on how to get there, apparently on the map there seems to be some short cuts which may end up in a disaster based on what I've heard from locals the shared day tours generally cost between 30 to 50 euros which include, food, 4WD transport, an English tour guide,...

The Uyuni Salt Flat, located in southwestern Bolivia, is the largest salt flat in the world and one of the most surreal landscapes you'll ever encounter. Stretching over 10,000 square kilometers, this vast expanse of salt creates an otherworldly scene that seems to stretch endlessly into the horizon.

One of the most iconic features of the Uyuni Salt Flat is the mirror effect that occurs during the rainy season. When the flats are covered with a thin layer of water, they become the world's largest natural mirror, reflecting the sky with stunning clarity. This phenomenon creates breathtaking and surreal photo opportunities, making it a favorite destination for photographers and travelers alike.

Apart from its natural beauty, the Uyuni Salt Flat is also home to unique geological formations, such as the Isla Incahuasi, also known as Fish Island, which is covered in giant cacti and offers panoramic views of the salt flat. Visitors can also explore the nearby Train Cemetery, where rusting train cars from the early 20th century lie abandoned in the desert, adding to the area's intriguing atmosphere.

Traveling across the Uyuni Salt Flat is an unforgettable experience that offers a glimpse into a world unlike any other. Whether you're marveling at the mirror-like reflections, exploring the unique landscapes, or learning about the area's history, a visit to the Uyuni Salt Flat is sure to leave you in awe of the natural...

Uyuni 4 dias y 3 noches.

There was no better way to enjoy watching my favorite movie, Malcolm X, than in the salt flats of Bolivia. Salar de Uyuni or the salt flats of Bolivia, situated in Bolivia, is the largest salt flat in the world. It is believed that around 42,000 years ago, the salt flats of Bolivia were submerged underwater making this a result of a prehistoric lake. If you want to visit the Uyuni salt flats for its Insta-friendly mirror effect, you must visit in the wet season, from December to April. Be wary of excessive rain in December and January, as it can cause tour cancelations. Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni is an incredible experience and is considered one of the most remarkable sites in all of South America. Thank you to @windcollective for arranging this experience and also to @theboliviantraveler for being an awesome videographer and photographer to help capture this amazing experience for me. #bolivia #uyunisaltflats #salardeuyuni #bolivia🇧🇴 📍Uyuni, Bolivia 🎥 @theboliviantraveler
