Great climb offering spectacular views, the sunrise is breathtaking! Not too hard to climb, we left the village of Sajama around midnight and were back around 1pm the same day. Excellent opportunity to pass 6000m, summit is at 6350m. Last part is quite hard due to the altitude and the glacier so make sure to be in a good physical health and bring crampons with...

Make sure to come prepared. It can get very windy and cold. It was so cold the water inside my pack froze and my gadgets wouldn't turn on anymore.

Also make sure to protect your eyes. Because it was so windy snow got into my eyes and when it was time to descend, my vision...

This is one of the highest frontiers that I have been (between Bolivia and Chile) . Really tough because of the Penitentes and volcanic terrain. The view to Sajama and Pomerape mountain are spectacular. The crater was calling us to explore but we were exhausted. worth to climb it!!

Super sommet et superbe ascension, techniquement le terrain n'est pas difficile, moitié marche sur terrain volcanique peu accidenté et à partir de 5700m deuxième partie en crampons jusqu'au sommet. Pas besoin de piolet. La seule difficulté réside dans la haute altitude mais si vous êtes bien acclimaté il n'y a aucune raison de ne pas le tenter, ça vaut vraiment le coup. Pour l'ascension je vous conseille de contacter Mario Pérez (allez le chercher à l'auberge qu'il tient avec sa femme Ana, Posada Mario y Ana), c'est le plus pro et sérieux du village et il loue du matériel de qualité.

Bem na fronteira entre o Chile e a Bolívia, está uma das paisagens mais espetaculares da Cordilheira dos Andes: o Parque Lauca. E inserido neste, está o vulcão Parinacota, no Estado de mesmo nome. É um lugar incrível, ao lado do Lago Chungara, vazio, mas repleto da natureza selvagem. Não perca este lugar se estiver nas redondezas. Eu conheci este lugar partindo de uma excursão de Arica, numa longa viagem que sai do nível do mar a altitudes próximas dos 4000 metros.
