There's a lot of hype about this place before we came here. It's about an hours drive from Gweta. The name appears misleading as we hardly saw significant numbers of birds. The only ones we saw were sandpiper, ducks and about 5 pelicans far out from the shore. One pelican made a fleeting appearance near the shoreline but not enough for decent photos to be taken. However, we saw heaps of wildebeest on the salt pan. The place is not busy. There are a few raised lookouts near the lake for spotting wildlife.
