THIS IS THE BEST MALL IN BOTSWANA!
Ever since I was a child i've always seen Gamecity as the place to go to have a go time. Families and friends would and do flock to this place to have a good time in the weekend. It has many many shops that sell high quality fashionable clothing like Options,Edgar and Markham and restaurants that serve mouth watering meals like Nandos, Chicken Licken and Romans pizza as well as a book store and many cellphone and computer shops. Gamecity has grown from the simple shopping with a few restaurants to the titan it is. The new capitol cinemas are the premier cinemas that have and do screen iconic blockbuster movie albeit not that varied in terms of content but still impressive in terms of quality of sound and picture quality and food.It would be great if there were a wider range of snacks but I am sure with time the range will increase.
Gamecity has been renovated to a new sleek design that is very aesthetically pleasing and though I do miss the old style the new one fits very well. Game city used to have an amazing arcade which would bring families from around the country to have wonderful game nights. Why they removed it we will never know but the pool and video game stations they replaced it will never be enough.BRING BACK THE ARCADE.And the mini golf and rock climbing was a big attraction. These things should be brought back. They would have been a local attraction.
Game city is truly amazing. The best and biggest mall...
Read moreOne of the more versatile malls in Gabs. Food court on second level, clean and friendly cinema on 1st floor below food court, at least 3 computer stores, multiple banks, two Pep Stores, dozens of clothing stores and such. It holds one of the two Game Stores in Botswana. You can view the exact store listing of all 50+ stores on their website.
Click's Store (Pharmacy) usually has better deals here, than at thr Click's Airport Junction. Also, there are two places in the aisles of the mall to get your smell-goods (oils, perfumes). Much more natural and cheaper than commercial stores. FYI
Hardware store staff are friendly enough...always willing to help. OK place to ask for scrap pieces of wood.
Petrol stations (gas stations) are conveniently located at the mall.
Security is present in the parking lot, as well as inside the mall. Sense of security/safety is good here, but as always, practice the usual precautions...especially at the end of the mall where the ATMs /banks are located.
Traffic is ALWAYS busy. Parking can get full during late morning and afternoon hours.
Restrooms are fairly clean and accessible. Don't expect to eat at the KFC on the outside and use their bathroom---they don't have a public restroom.
There are PLENTY of TAXI men waiting outside ( at the Choppie's side), in case you...

In terms of restaurants, I'd recommend Wimpy for a full meal or Romans Pizza for a quick bite. Both of these are located just by the main mall building's entrances. I'd also recommend Shopright (also near the entrance) if you're looking for some groceries instead.
There's plenty of clothing shops as well and if you're looking for more budget friendly items then pop into Pep Stores, or Woolworths and Edgars for higher-end items, and for makeup and beauty items I'd recommend Foschini. If it's camping gear you need, then pop into Cape Union or Game.
There's also cell phones in many shops in case you've lost yours. For the best possible service I'd say pop into Cell City but in terms of better pricing go to Yash Cell instead. The actual phones they sell are the same though (even though Cell City has a larger variety).
Generally, I think you'll have a great experience here, so that's why I think it's worth my 5...
