This chapel is all that is left of the Pchelintsi village that is now under the waters of Pchelina (Lobosh) Dam. The chapel is taken care of by local people and visitors; regretfully the murals in the interior suffered from vandalism in the 1980s. A great place to visit (a day's trip from Sofia). The surrounding area offers great opportunities for outdoor activities or a picnic; it is also a favorite photo location. Accessible from the villages of Priboy or Potsarnentsi (Sofia-Pernik-Radomir and...

This beautiful paraklis is perched on top of a hill with breathtaking views of the lake below. One side of the water appears a stunning blue, while the other shimmers green, creating a unique and memorable panorama. It’s absolutely worth a visit for anyone in the area.

Keep in mind there’s no shade around the chapel, so I recommend bringing a hat or visiting during cooler parts of the day, especially if you’re coming in the summer. A perfect spot for peaceful reflection or...

Peaceful and with great panoramic views over Pchelina reservoir. Built in 1350, according to the inscription on a stone at the chapel’s doorstep. It seems well preserved, and you can go inside to light a candle and appreciate the fading frescoes. The village of Pchelintsi became submerged in the 1970s and now lies on the bottom of the reservoir. Access can be made on foot or by car through dirt roads.
