It's gorgeous. Peaceful, calm, tranquil, picturesque. A must visit. The drive down from Yaounde is smooth for most of the drive - it took us an hour and a half on a good road...it's only the last 10 minutes which is a rough road. The drive itself is gorgeous, the area is super green. When you arrive, you're greeted by the Nyong River which is breathtaking. It's black and reflects everything. I highly recommend the hour and a half pirogue ride down the river...that one allows you to get off and see the oldest tree on the continent...worth seeing. The fresh fish we had from the lake was delicious. They didn't have soap at the time so maybe carry your own, or sanitizer otherwise a must must see. Give yourself enough time so you don't rush any of it.

This touristsic site is just awesome. The fact that you completely get out of Urban life and it's worries, noise, etc is mind healing. Due to the lack of network, you don't get distracted by social media. There are guides on-site who can take you into the forest for an interesting hike describing the history of the place and medicinal values of certain plants. The sailing on the Nyong River was definitely the best part of the trip. After about a 20 minutes ride, we arrived at the legendary Kossipo tree which is over a thousand years old. There are also other Touristsic attractions like the parrot island which I didn't visit. There are nice huts which you can rent to spend the night as well as a restaurant/bar. I'm definitely gonna repeat this
