
2023 update: they were incredibly unaccomodating when I couldn't pay within their silly two hour window rule. I usually get the prepaid passes but missed the last sale. I was on shift at the time and wasn't able to step away long enough to send payment but said I would as soon as I could. They canceled the booking. I've been a customer since about 2020 and have sent many referrals. If they want people to pay immediately then they really need to update their system. We've moved our playdates to Laneway getaway, which is better serviced and laid out. And you can pay right away instead of having to guess when they'll get back to you to approve your booking and then have limited time to pay. There are more trees and things to sniff, they have a water source so you don't have to worry about forgetting to bring it, there's lots of shade, and even a place to have a fire for chilly days. They have a wider timeframe to book and both of their parks are open regularly. The people are more welcoming and seem genuinely grateful for their customers.
I'm sorely disappointed by how I was treated by Awesome Pawesome Ranch after being a faithful customer for so long. I wasn't there all of the time because my time outside greatly depends on weather and health, which varies by the day. I went when I could with my working dog so she could have a break and just be a dog. I felt berated, like I did something wrong, by not being available to pay immediately. The system to do so is unaccomodating. That blame on the customer for not knowing when their appointment is going to be accepted is hugely unacceptable, and that was truly the kicker to this whole affair. I was told that "I know the system well" when in reality, I've only ever paid that way maybe two or three times. I used passes the rest of the time so this was never an issue I needed to consider.
Expecting people to wait by their phones to know their booking is accepted is honestly the dumbest business approach I've ever seen. Giving 24 hours to pay after the booking has been accepted seems much more appropriate. The owner seems to forget that other people have things on the go as well. She's not the only one. I don't need to be chastised by anyone for trending to priorities.

We were flying out of Edmonton and back and were counting on the after hours pick up drop off available (at a fee) due to the flights on departure and arrival day. This was a claim stated on the website. My wife payed signed a non refundable deposit. After the fact we were then told that the after hours pickup does not include weekends or holidays. That we needed to pick up our pets by 11AM on the day which was never mentioned until after payment, or have to pay for an extra day. To top it all off we had to book a 15min window/appointment for the pickup and drop off. All these were revealed after the deposit was given unfortunately. We just could not meet these requirements being from out of town and told her we had to cancel the reservation. Owner was very defensive when speaking on the phone. She was adamant about the non refundable (50%) deposit, even though things were not as advertized and the very unreasonable terms expressed after contract signed, said terms were not mentioned anywhere in contract. When I mentioned that her website says otherwise she used as an excuse “How many websites do you know that are up to date?”. I approached her very professionally and calmly and tried to appeal to her better judgement, based on this coming up only 3-4 days after deposit was processed and that there was still a month and a half to go. Would not trust this facility with our pets, if they are so worried about money when their terms were not clear and only mentioned deal breakers after the deposit was made. She was completely unforgiving or understanding that peoples plans can change. She would not consider refunding our deposit-the total amount owing had changed due to our plans changing/shortening my pets stay - not even less than 24 hours after the deposit was made. She was unprofessional, aggressive, rude and offensive when I spoke with her on the phone. And after being polite and calmly accepting that our deposit was non-refundable and that we were still planning to use her facilities, she emailed me less than 2 DAYS prior to my pet's check in that our reservation had been cancelled due to "overbooking". One would think that such a notice would deserve immediate personal attention – ie: making sure the person actually gets them message – a phone call is an appropriate measure, not email. Nowhere in the contract that I signed did it say she can cancel a reservation due to "overbooking". She clearly did not like that I had shortened my pets stay, as it was not on her terms. At any rate, I felt better off that my pet would not have to stay there after all that. I will NEVER attempt to use her services again, just to spare myself from dealing with such a miserable, rude, unprofessional person.
