I'm speaking ONLY of the food and service in the club house. Me and my S.O. showed up for prime-rib Thursday later in the evening (around 8:00pm) for dinner. Upon entering the staff was friendly enough, but there was a serious small town vibe in the air that put me off - I personally did not feel very welcomed into the establishment and was hesitant to go any further. However, we persevered and had dinner...The waitress did not know the drink menu off the top of her head (it is what it is...I know memorizing 6 drinks on tap is hard) and then left without returning - instead, another waitress arrived and took our drink and food order. Now back to the prime rib...what I was expecting was some freshly prepared potatoes and carrots with a prime rib cooked medium-rare (the waitress said the kitchen couldn't cook a medium rare so medium would have to suffice, fine). INSTEAD what I received what the most overcooked potatoes mankind could create, seriously you could play golf with 6 of the 10 chunks that were present - so props to upholding the golf mentality although I think someone clearly missed the mark. The carrots were very clearly boiled and skinned with little to no flavor - how do you screw that up...have the cooking staff heard of garlic butter??? Finally, the prime-rib, which I was promised was to be medium, in fact came out to be rare-medium rare, and was cool to luke-warm at best. There was little-to-no- flavor with the prime-rib leaving me very irritated and wanting more. The meat was so cold that my S.O, a cook, thought that it wasn't reheated or placed under a heat lamp (C'mon kitchen, get it together) The waitress did come by to check up on us (exactly once between giving us our food and our bill) and asked how the food was. It was very hard for me to cover my distaste but I somehow managed to utter a "fine" (it simply wasn't worth anyone's hassle at now 845pm). From that point on I was very unhappy and wanted the bill, so the irritations are over now, right? No, instead of letting us know that we pay at the front (y'know as any server should) we sat and waited until we went to the front and paid - this is such a petty thing to complain over but good lord, our time here was truly atrocious. It's a good thing there's a nice view over a newly created course because honestly you may as well just skip the clubhouse. It's very clear that the kitchen doesn't care about how its food is prepared, and it's also clear that the serving staff could care less.
I've been to other courses and clubhouse alike in Northern and Southern Alberta, and honestly, this is without a doubt, the worst experience I've EVER had at a golf course. Consider using the Sturgeon Valley Golf and Country Club as a prime example of how to prepare food and...

Like the golf course their response was absolutely beyond any expectations. Through their actions and words it is very clear these people are extremely serious about customer satisfaction!!
Any business can have issues creep up from time to time, but how fast and how successfully these issues are managed the proof of their commitment.
The way these identified issues were handled was outstanding!!
I wish this organization all the best that this industry and itâs patrons can offer
Our hat is off to these fine folks
Thank you very much
We had an absolutely phenomenal day today on the golf course. Absolutely cannot say enough about the scenery, the fairways, the greens, everything about the course was top notch. Unfortunately we decided after such a great time we should go for lunch at the clubhouse. As phenomenal as the golfing experience was, the clubhouse experience was the exact opposite!! They were short of some items on the menu, but not a deal breaker.. Our service attendant took our order, provided us with our drinks and 1 pitcher of water âŚ.. then disappeared for almost an hour ( never returned with cream for the coffee as asked) and no the clubhouse wasnât busy. We arrived at 12:50, and never received anything other than our initial drink and water until 2:05đ¤Śââď¸đ¤Śââď¸đ¤Śââď¸ We asked once about the delay, and received a response that everything would be 2 minutesâŚ. It wasnât!! When food did arrive ( prime rib sandwich, steak sandwich, and supposed to be a hamburger which never did arrive the order wasnât correctâŚ, but again no query to check our satisfaction!! When I left the table to find the service attendant ( after waiting 7 minutes for the hamburger to arrive,, which it never did) and asked of the status of the burger , I was snottily advised it was on its way. At this point I politely asked to speak to her manager⌠she turned on her heel and walked back to the kitchen to not reappear. I returned to our table finished what meals we had received and promptly returned inside to pay our bill ( patio has a great view and atmosphere) When I again asked to speak to a manager I was advised no supervisory staff was in today or available to speak toâŚ.. In my entire life I have never experienced such horrible service and felt so disrespected for myself and my entire party of 4.
We will absolutely return to golf at the CNP golf course, but it will be a cold day in ( you know where) before we darken the door of the clubhouse, and I can assure you I will advise anyone who will listen to me to do the...
Read morePlayed: August 26, 2025 A Hidden Gem in the Rockies The Crowsnest Pass Golf Course has been on my top 10 list for years, and my friends and I make sure to play it every time we're in the area. This course has a long history, with various iterations spanning over a century, making it one of Albertaâs oldest. For years, we drove right by it on our way to B.C., never thinking much of what we saw from the highwayâand boy, were we missing out. In the mid-1990s, the original nine-hole course was expanded to 18, and that's when we finally decided to give it a try. We were completely blown away by the layout, condition, and the stunning views it offered. Any serious golfer would be remiss to pass up on this course; it's absolutely worth playing. The course underwent another redesign in the late 2010s after a local coal mine bought the surrounding land. They rebuilt the course with a mix of new and existing holes and added a spectacular new clubhouse for members. The day we played, the course was in excellent condition, with lush tees, fairways, and greens. The greens were some of the best we've played on all year. For those who haven't been here before, this is a true mountain course. There isn't a single flat lie, and every hole is an uphill and downhill challenge that tests every part of your game. The greens are large, undulating, and well-bunkered. Many of the elevated tees offer breathtaking views of both the hole and the surrounding mountains. Itâs one of those rare courses that's beautiful to look at from the tee box and just as stunning when you look back from the green. The new clubhouse is spectacular, with great views of the 18th hole and the mountains. The pro shop is fully stocked, and the practice facility is second to none. Would I recommend this course? Heck yeah! My only disappointment is that it used to be one of the less expensive courses in Southern Alberta. Now that everyone is discovering this Rocky Mountain jewel, the price is more in line with other courses in the area. At least you know you're getting your money's...
