Been here twice in the last few years, and it's a must visit. Great hikes, vistas, sea life, rock formation, and a laid back atmosphere. Visit Mountain Meadery for an experience in honey base wines, or Heliwell Park for sea lions and sea bird views 'extraordinaire'. Plan at least three days, although we've done it in one and a half. Denman Island (on the way over) also worth the visit .

This place is paradise!! The beaches are beautiful, not only the sandy ones!! It is bike friendly, with a large area for mountain biking. Book ahead if you want to go though, it is extremely busy in the summer time. There are two actual campgrounds, and a lot of rental houses. You can also get away with just sleeping on the beach for a night or two.

Here are 5 fun facts about Hornby Island and why I can't wait to go back. White Sandy Beach, Marine Life, Artisan Market, Hiking Trails, best PIZZA. Video attached.

Great island, with a thriving summer community, good food, beautiful beaches and great trails for hiking and biking. This year they also added a free bus in the summer!

The thing that sucks is the cost of the ferry - $20 + approx $10 per human for a ten minute ride. Honestly it makes no sense.

Recommend: Vorizo Cafe, Mt Geoffrey, the Escarpment trail and Helliwell park. Tribune is also awesome but I know everyone will be going there anyways! On that, we found quieter beach spots on the right side which you can get to via...

Very nice beach compared to others in Canada, still some lakes are more crystal clear and blue, tide is very strong expect muddy ground. Worth the visit but be aware of transportation is a major drawback, 2 Ferries (Buckley - Denman - Hornby) seasonal buses on Denman and Hornby islands hourly only, i won't recommend to visit if you don't have a car. Very friendly islanders people...
