Great island, with a thriving summer community, good food, beautiful beaches and great trails for hiking and biking. This year they also added a free bus in the summer!
The thing that sucks is the cost of the ferry - $20 + approx $10 per human for a ten minute ride. Honestly it makes no sense.

Read moreVery nice beach compared to others in Canada, still some lakes are more crystal clear and blue, tide is very strong expect muddy ground. Worth the visit but be aware of transportation is a major drawback, 2 Ferries (Buckley - Denman - Hornby) seasonal buses on Denman and Hornby islands hourly only, i won't recommend to visit if you don't have a car.
