I have always had such a nice experience at this crossing, in both directions. The staff are so nice and helpful, the scenery is other worldly and the geology of the region fascinates me. It's both the closest to home and the most convenient for having a USA shipping address in Oroville to receive packages which would otherwise be far too expensive to have shipped. Even small ones. Having this access is so appreciated. The men and women at this border are really the ones who make it such a great one. It can't be an easy job, whatsoever, but they do it with a kind of grace and that softens the edges of the authority and responsibility they have, making interactions efficient and enjoyable. But it's still a border crossing. Remember to have all your documentation ready and be prepared to answer all questions and cooperate fully. We're all human, we all have things to do, and we're all in this together ;)

Read moreThere is almost always a short lineup and the process is efficient. It's well run. The only thing is there needs to be a sign on the road (on the Canadian side) telling people to turn around if they don't want to cross the border. My two aunts in their late 70's accidentally went through the border (just like I did last year) and had to park their car & go through with explaining why they did not have their passports etc. to the agents. Apparently, there were others pulled over, doing the same thing. My aunts were here on holiday and missed meeting up with a friend because of this. Most border crossings have a "turn around here or you must go across the border" signage of some kind. There is a double line before we realized we were too far and then spikes behind the car after that, so you can't back up when the mistake is realized. Surely, this cannot be good to waste time with people who don't even intend to...
Read moreVery good experience. We went there to flagpole, which apparently the US border agency doesn’t like… well we had i94 and estas and stayed literally 1 minute in the US, couldn’t have met a friendlier officer.
On the Canada side, officer A.Kumar was the nicest, most helpful and professional Canadian officer I ever dealt with, and frankly the bar was already high as most officers are nice here.
We were given a fair process although we came from Vancouver which they don’t want people to do. We had no choice and they were very understanding of that. I would say we had the friendliest officer in the building working on our case, but the outcome and fair treatment would likely have been the same with any other officer. The managing officer was a very good and...
