My wife and I have just returned to civilisation from a three day canoeing trip on the Clearwater River with Wells Gray Adventures. We were ably guided by the wonderful Tyler and JF, two incredibly knowledgeable and interesting gentlemen. We could’ve spent the whole time just listening to their stories! The trip was simply incredible, a genuine once in a lifetime experience for us both. We’d never have the confidence to leave the touristy bits of BC on our own, so this trip was an amazing opportunity to get a feel for what it’s like properly off the beaten track. From booking to getting safely home, the whole Wells Gray team were so welcoming, friendly, and seemed to genuinely want us to have the best time. I would thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone. The trip starts with the drive into the park. We stopped at a couple of cool waterfalls on the way to break up the journey. Once at the lake we paddled to the chosen campsite (there are a few and they usually aim for a site with nobody else there!). This paddle is broken up into a couple of short hops to help people get familiar with the canoes and to have an opportunity to have lunch/see some of the forest. At the end of the first day there’s an amazing dinner, which catered well to our dietary needs, and an opportunity to head back onto the water to watch the sunset. All camping gear is provided except pillows! On day two there’s a few options for what to do. We chose the long paddle to Lifley Falls which, although very tiring, was worth it for lunch by the river. We passed our pretty quick once we got home, but not before we toasted marshmallows and ate another cracking meal. The final day is the journey home! We paddled back to the mouth of the lake, and took an extended drive home to see several other sites in the park. All in all, a trip we’ll never forget.

An absolutely wonderful way to spend the Canada Day long weekend! I was so fortunate to be part of the women only 3 day hike to Trophy Mountain, and I found everything I was looking for and more in this trip through Wells Gray Adventures. I was not expecting so much snow but it ended up becoming such a great part of the trip thanks to the beyond expert guidance from Tay and Laurie. I felt supported and so welcomed throughout the entire trip. I also felt safe walking in the snow thanks to their coaching and direction. It has given me confidence for future hikes. Tay's knowledge and expertise is beyond what you could ever ask for from a guide given her life experience and her devotion to everything about Wells Gray. Her stewardship to the environment is awe inspiring. This trip was 110% in terms of value for money. I do not know of anywhere else you could get such excellent service from people that truly love what they do for the same pricing. I hope to be back for more adventures in the future!

We did the 5 day hike and it surpassed our expectations. The guides were excellent, the other participants were heaps of fun, the cabins better than expected, the views from the peaks were as good as any I have seen in the Rockies and the food was excellent. Their website doesn’t mention gluten-free so I brought extra, but I didn’t need it as they went out of their way to make sure the 2 gluten-free participants were well fed. The hiking itself was harder than expected - make sure you have actually practiced doing a 10km+ hike, with 400+ metres of elevation gain and a full 60 litre pack before you go! I hadn’t really trained for this hike and I regretted it. Overall the experience was fantastic and highly recommended. Definitely worth every penny!

This past weekend my girlfriend and I did the women's only Trophy Meadows 3 day Adventure. Our guides Tay and Michelle were absolutely amazing. My heart bursts with so much gratitude to these two beautiful humans.

I had hoped to up my training game around April with more outdoor walking and get out for hikes as soon as the weather improved. However on Easter weekend my husband experienced some chest pain that lead to a cascade of doctors appointments and eventual open heart surgery on June 3rd.

Now I am a 190 lb 60 year old woman and yes I work out once a week with weights and walk and do some cardio walks but I was not prepared for the rugged terrain that was to meet us at the trail head. It was 4 km straight up to the chalet.

Michelle and I pulled up the rear most of the 3 days as I was definitely the most under qualified to be on that trip. However, her patience and kindness gave me the confidence that I could do really hard things. The tips and training Tay gave me on steep decent hiking with poles literally saved my legs enough to continue with the group the whole weekend.

I learned so much because of Tay's knowledge of Wells Gray Park and all the plants and their role in the environment. Her dedication to reducing environmental impact from our being there was a reminder of the things we can all do to preserve this wonderful planet.

This trip exceeded not only my expectations of what we would see but also of my own abilities and capabilities.

The food these ladies made was absolutely delicious. And let's not forget all the wonderful snacks.

Last but not least the amazing group of women I met. We were strangers that became a team on the mountain. The support and encouragement they graced me with will never be forgotten. The friendships built will forever leave their mark.

This was by far the most physically challenging and mentally rewarding thing I have ever done in my life. Because of the expertise, kindness and compassion of our wonderful guides and this team of women, I came and I conquered.

I have already been talking to another friend about doing another Wells Gray Adventure. Thank you all so much for one of the most memorable...

Our family group included 4 adults and 5 teens on the 5 day Hut-to-Hut hike in August. It was an absolutely unforgettably wonderful experience for all! I was a bit nervous because a broken finger forced us to cancel our bicycle vacation so we had to plan this hike last minute with only had a week to prepare, and not all of us were experienced hikers. However the website descriptions of the hike distances/elevations and packing list were excellent. Wells Gray Adventures was thoroughly organized and they generously resolved the problem when one of us experienced equipment failure (due to our short prep time). Eco-friendly throughout. The guide was fantastic, the trails were well planned and stunningly beautiful, the food was delicious and plentiful, and the cabins were the best I've ever visited on top of a mountain (and i've been to quite a few). One of our favourite parts was the absence of other tourists and how pristine everything was. The wildflowers were gorgeous, the swimming was cold but refreshing, lots of variety in the terrain and breathtaking views. Thank you for everything -we will remember forever this amazing family bonding experience in the beautiful mountains in your...
