I love the hike to the Hope Lookout. When I've not been in shape, it is a grueling hour and a half to get to the Lookout. My personal record is 45 minutes but I've heard the records are closer to 25 minutes, so it really depends on your fitness level.
The first few minutes are sometimes the most tiring but then it levels out for a bit. After the Lower Lookout, the first section is tough, but doable, the next section is the hardest with lots of stairs and the final section a bit easier.
The view from the top is a nice bonus and a lot of new benches have been installed so there's lots of room to spread out. If you bring toilet paper, they've even installed an outdoor toilet just at the end of the rock slide if you follow the trail. My 7-year old has used it, but I am...

You get an incredible view of downtown Hope and Kawkawa lake.
