That’s fantastic! Needle Peak is the most scenic peak in the area. Obviously the most challenging part of Needle Peak is the scramble. No matter how I found the scrambling to be challenging. It was two short scrambles, with a simple ridge line walk between them. The first scramble is little exposed but obviously requires upper body strength to pull up and climb up around 10ft rockface( my husband pull my backpack up and I could make it one section) The second scramble to the summit is trickier, including some challenging route finding. It’s not easy to find “blue arrow “ so slowly climb up and it will be figure it out the way up. When you encounter toilet paper hanging from a branch on a hiking trail, it’s indeed a signal to be cautious of wasp nests nearby. It’s great that fellow hikers are looking out for each other by leaving these subtle warnings. Needle peak is indeed remarkable hiking 👍

I'm a beginner hiker and the trail was ok to me, with some stops for resting. The view is astonishing during all the trail and begins very easy. The most difficult part it the first climbing. You must do it with a lot attention and for beggers like me, I do recommend to rest before do ir, even it is a small part of the trail. The second climbing is challenging either, but nothing compared to the first. Most of the trail is very easy and very rewarding. The view at the peak is speechless. You can see and fell the vastness of the world and how small we are. Personally, I spent one hour in the top, admiring and meditating about it. A life change experience!

A fantastic hike . Make it to the summit and you will be rewarded with outstanding views for miles. Summit ascent is not for the novice. Some steep climbing and scrambling over rocks, a rope to assist with a steep section. If you get up, ensure you can climb down. Elevation is high so expect wind, and changing conditions. The hike up is a slog uphill, through forested canopy of trees with exposed roots. Eventually leads out into the Alpine with large boulders, and open areas. Can detour of to Flatiron lake which is nice. People often camp at Flatiron. Can get busy at weekends if weather is nice. Parking at Zopkios. Trail entrance is easy to find. Bonus is when you come down, visit the food trailer at Zopkios. Had amazing veggie burger and fries. Can't wait to hike again. Ps. Hiking poles is a good idea to help with the down section....
