Mount Albert Edward is a spectacular hike. I never imagined such incredible beauty existed out in the middle of nowhere on Vancouver Island! I was with a group and we hiked from Circlet Lake to the summit and back in a day. I feel like photos don't do justice, because they don't capture all the smells and all the sounds of nature, and the Whiskey Jack birds that are flying around the whole time! You will be blown away by the awesome beauty of the mountain; I guarantee it. The lakes, the trees, the animals; all so beautiful. Make sure to go on a clear day because you'll actually be able to make it to the top safely, and then fully enjoy the 360 panoramic views. Nothing you’d need microspikes or snowshoes for, but good to have hiking poles, especially for the rocky bits.
