Silver Star Mountain — Local services in Area C (Silver Star)

We went to Silver Star to do a memorial for a family member who was not only a ski patrol and search and rescue on the mountain but an integral part of the beginnings of the resort in 1958. The ticket office staff were lovely when they listened to our story and graciously gave us free passes to head up the gondola. The fabulous staff at the top suggested a good spot where we could leave his ashes. It was the perfect spot for us to make a little memorial and say some final words. I really love this mountain. There is something for everyone: nice green runs, fun blues, and some challenging blacks. There is powder, but sometimes you have to do some exploring to find it.

The down side of Silverstar is that it is smaller than Big White and 90% of runs filter through one chair. It is a fast sextuple chair, so the waits aren't bad, but it can get a little boring going up the same...

Amazing xc ski area with over 100km+ of groomed xc ski trails both skate and classic when combined with the sovereign lake nordic. Stellar views on a blue bird day when you're above the cloud line.
