Our VIA Rail train from Prince George to Prince Rupert ran alongside the Skeena River all the way from the town of Hazelton in British Columbia to Port Edward. It was quite narrow at Hazelton but kept getting wider and wider, with a steady flow of water, as we approached nearer to Port Edward. It became fast flowing and very wide after we passed the town of Terrace. The scenery of the dense foliage and the raging river flowing through the hills kept us glued to the train window seat.

An absolutely gorgeous drive along the river! The mountains and cliffs mixed with the dense foliage are just stunning! The river itself is also incredibly wide in some areas, bigger than many lakes.

Best fishing spot. Test your fishing skills. I just like the challenge Skeena brings each time you cast your line. She really test you out. Fishing is a game of patience.

Good views but fed fish and bc fisheries have done a very very poor job of managing the system .it look like another year where there will be little or no fishing. But they will Waite to tell us after we spend big bucks for a licence. And let the commercial boats plug the mouth of the skeena. You know have to keep JIMMY PATTERSON'S fish plants making bucks to he'll with the...

Beautiful and powerful. If you are a person for sightseeing going to K'san campgrounds right beside the skeena river could be your place as it is a tourism area (like all of downtown "historic old" Hazelton) and not many people are in the area sightseeing if you want...
