Oh ho ho! Who doesn't like melons? They're big, they're round, they're hard, you can squeeze em, they're sweet, and they're uh... I've run out of pervy innuendos to write... Uh, anyway, Thames River Melons! They're a random melon farm in Oxford County, Ontario, and that's a rare thing indeed! The great thing about this place is they're open on Sundays, and since they're a bit out of the way, they're not crowded at all. We went for strawberries, but they also have PYO blueberries and raspberries, and probably other stuff too. And of course the melons they're named after, which are awesome BTW! Read moreI went today to the farm n bought the sweetest, most juicy watermelons. Even though it's October, they still had some fresh ones. I bought a yellow watermelon n a red one, both amazingly sweet! Purchased sweet corn n they still had a lot. Last week, I bought their produce at the St Jacobs market and enjoyed those melons, too. It's a very nice 40-minute drive to the farm with beautiful 😍 countryside.
The farm is very big, with lots of pumpkins, frozen yogurt n kids' area to play along with picnic tables. Read moreThis is our families favorite Fall tradition. We absolutely love it here! The corn maze, the pumpkins, the walking trail. We enjoy it all and usually grab some treats to bring home. This year we decided to have lunch at the Food truck and sadly it was a giant disappointment. They had almost nothing available and what they did have was awful. $25 combo that included the worst hamburger we have ever had. Cold buns, tiny patties. Lumpy gravy...just really awful food.
