Franklin Island — Local services in Carling Township

Was there jul 1 2020. Great island. Very clean. The beach at the old resort was completely under water except for right by the Canadian flag. Great place for all kinds of water activities and hiking. I saw birds like ducks, loons, bald eagles, osprey and all types I dont usually see on main land. Bring bug spray and sunscreen just dont leave ur garbage. Update: 2021 place is still amazing. Saw a sign on the thunder box of where to donate to the ones taking care of the place, took a pic of it but...

A wonderful boating ecperience. Windsor passge too shallow for out 35' Silverton, but other brave souls enteted and tied up too roaocks and trees on shore. In our notorized diingy we explored the inner lakes which heretofore habe been inaccessible except by portage and kayak. Regatte bay too tricky for very large boats which more safely swing at anchor in the bay at the south...

Georgian Bay most free and natural. Except for the thunder boxes, which are most welcome and likely reduce much litter. Bug repellant on butt recommended right before dropping pants though...mid July was full mosquito season. We went to bed with the sun just...
